The text presents five signs of organizational culture: mission statement, stories & language, physical layout, rules & policies, and rituals. Select an organization where you have worked or are familiar with and identify an example of each sign of organizational culture. How do you think each of these things conveyed the organizational culture to employees and customers/clients. Be sure that your Learning Journal entry is a minimum of 500 words.

I worked with Siemens Healthineers, the organizational culture had obvious and well-defined signs. Mission Statment, a mission statement describes who the company is and what it does. Siemens healthcare mission was ''At Siemens Healthineers, our mission is to enable healthcare providers to increase value by empowering them on their journey towards expanding precision medicine, transforming care delivery, and improving patient experience, all enabled by digitalizing healthcare.'' (Siemens Healthineers, n.d.). During training events, we could see how much the company put an emphasis on enabling doctors to get better procedures' outcome, the company provided a high-end specialized medical imaging and diagnostic system with full cloud-based support and AI-powered software. The doctors were able to feel the impact of digitalization and how we presented the solutions to them. Rituals, one ritual that was really informative and has a very cool setup was the annual kick-off meetings. These meetings usually held in October at the beginning of the company's fiscal year, the company held the meeting in a different Scandinavian city every year- I worked with siemens Sweden which belongs to the Scandinavian region- with local themes, also, the company had a rock band that played for us at the end of the 3-day event. I was the drummer for that band, the company would review previous financial achievements and announce the upcoming strategy and product releases. Rules and Policies, Integrity, and business conduct was an essential criterion, there was a compliance department that held numerous training session on how to report integrity issue related to business conduct like corruption, for example, we had a hot-line to report any suspicious and corrupt business conduct. If any employee is suspected of spreading internal and confidential information or selling sensitive information to competitors, we must report them. Or even if a salesperson won a deal through bribery, if we have evidence we must report them. Physical Layout, the company had an open layout, the company been through a rebranding phase, its name was Siemens Healthcare, then it became Siemens Healthineers and also switched the office layout from private offices to open-space layout. Unfortunately, it was only a figurative change, the company kept holding onto the old system underneath. Stories and Language, the company was keen to share success stories and best practices, during the kick-off meetings the company shared numerous success stories about how a certain team could overcome a sales competition, or shared a story of best practices about how a team could overcome a challenging situation and achieved customer satisfaction. Regarding jargon, we had technological jargon and acronyms where they conveyed the meaning of special services or technologies, for example, we had something called eSieLink, which was a special feature in medical imaging devices that enabled the employee to connect to the doctor's device and do quick maintenance and adjustments remotely. Another example was the eSieImage, it was an automated feature in the ultrasound machine which enabled the system to automatically optimized the image quality without the user intervention. e stands for electronic, Sie stands for the three letters of Siemens, link and image stand for their functions.
