GRADE 11- STEM-

GEN MATH 11

WEEK 1- QUARTER 1

MODULE 1: WHAT I CAN DO (TWO OWN SITUATIONS) 1. The budget for food is a function of the number of members of the family. Problem: Rumbaoa Family has a fixed food budget for each member of the family for Php 1000.00 a month. Express the total food budget (F) as a function of number of members of the family(n) in a month. Function: F(n)= 1000n

2. The SK Council of Mangato B’s budget for school supplies is a function of the number of SK members. Problem: SK Council’s allotted budget for school supplies to each member of the SK Council of the Mangato is Php750. Express the total budget of school supplies (S) as a function of number of SK members (m) of Mangato. Function: S(m)= 750m

MODULE 2: WHAT I CAN DO 1. a. The x represents the number page of printed output is a function of the total charges printed output (Php100) by Php 5 per printed output. Therefore, the function will be: f(x)= (100/5)x b. The number fifty-five (55) represents the pages Mark encoded and printed output; is a function of Php5 per printed output. If we express this function, it will be: f(55)= 5(55) f(55)= 275 Therefore, Mark will be charged Php275 for the 55 pages of his printed output.

MODULE 3: WHAT’S MORE Activity 2. Let’s Simplify B. 1-4 1. (m + n) (x) [m(x)] + [n(x)] Since m(x) = 5x- 3 and n(x) = x + 4 = (5x – 3) + ( x + 4) = 5x + x + 4 – 3 = 6x + 1 2. (m ∙ n) (x) [m(x)] ∙ [n(x)] Since m(x) = 5x – 3 and n(x) = x + 4 = (5x – 3) ∙ (x + 4) = = 3. (n – c) (x) [n(x)] – [c(x)] Since n(x) = x + 4 and c(x) = (x + 4) – () =x+4– = =4. (c/m) (x) [c(x)] / [m(x)] Since c(x) = and m(x) = 5x – 3 = = =x+4

MODULE 4: WHAT I CAN DO FINANCIAL PLAN Product: Chocolate Chip Cookies Description of Product: A sweet chunky cookie everybody likes, softness in every bite. It has a beautifully melted chocolate as a feeling. A box comes with 10 pcs of the chocolate chip cookies. Goal: To sell 1,000 boxes of cookies in a week. Capital: Php 15,000 Fixed Cost (Labor, Machineries, Expenses for the booth etc.): Php5,000 Variable Cost ( Materials, Ingredients, etc.): Php10,000 Profit Function: f(x)= x(n)- 15,000 Prove that profit function will yield an amount that is twice the capital: x= 50 n= 1,000 f(x)= x(n)- 15,000 f(x)= 50(1,000)- 15,000 f(x)= 50,000- 15,000 f(x)= 35,000...
