Therapeutic Use systemic vasodilation resulting in decresed BP

Complications -headache, dizziness, bradycardia, hypotension, nausea, constipation, abdominal discomfort, rash

Medication Administration PO IV

Contraindications/Precautions -patients hypersensitive to drug -patients with atrial fibrillation -use cautiously in elderly patients

Nursing Interventions -monitor BP and HR -monitor renal and hepatic functions -monitor daily weight

Interactions drug-drug: Anesthetics, Atazanavir, Carbamazeoine, Diazepam, Digoxin, Rifampin
