Diagnostic Procedures
There are no lab tests to diagnose bipolar disorder.
Mood Disorders Questionnaire: Standardized tool that places mood progression on a continuum from hypomania to acute mania to delirious mania
PATIENT-CENTERED CARE
Nursing Care Care of the client is based on the phase of bipolar disorder that the client is experiencing.
Therapeutic Procedures Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT):Used to moderate extreme manic behavior, especially when pharmacological therapy is ineffective
