Contraindications/Precautions -patients hypersensitive to drug, -cautiously in patients with recent MI, GI ulcer, renal disease, HTN, osteoporosis, diabetes mellitus, seizures, hypothyroidism
Interactions drug-drug:aspirin, cyclosporine, skin-test antigens, rifampin, potassium-depleting drugs
Nursing Interventions -lowest effective dose -monitor BP, sleep patterns, potassium level -weigh patient daily -watch for depression elderly patients more susceptible to psteoporosis
