What are Destra's two main streams of business? 2. What are the processes and procedures used to build and maintain a network? 3. Describe the network needs analysis or axiom of three (cost, security, usability). 4. What is network architecture? 5. What is the benefit of a portal? 6. How is Destra’s network structured? 7. What is the vital role networks play in business? Provide examples of how Destra uses its network technology to support its business. 8. What does network infrastructure include?

Destra's two main business streams are business services and entertainment services (Films Media Group, 2005, 02:09). Business service provides website hosting services and internet domain registry for businesses to have a unique identity and then provide servers for companies to store the data. At the same time, Destra's entertainment services mainly focus on the music industry giving technology for music labels for delivering music to radio and websites for bands to publish their music to an audience (2005). Destra's primary focus is on building a network where everything is connected (2005, 02:50). Networks are used to share data between two computers or workers instantly. Processes and procedures include network needs analysis, including looking into cost security, which is vital while building a network and usability (2005, 05:40). Following these, the engineers and management team build up a network. When a new network is in the making, the team will review and test the network before sending it to the customer, ensuring everything works fine.

To build a fine network there should be a balance of three things cost, security, and usability. This is known as the axiom of three theory (2005, 05:54). A network needs to balance cost, security and usability. If the user has an infinite amount of cash, both could be set up at a tolerable level. The axiom of three decides the network composition or architecture. Designing and structuring the network is known as network architecture (2005, 08:34). Structuring a network with network needs, availability, speed, and options increase the success rate. Network architecture also includes knowledge about the traffic on the network and then planning accordingly. An intranet, a private network for employees, connects users with a portal window (2005, 09:45). A portal is very useful in the Intranet where users and employee can build their view of information within the company (2005, 10:08). Allowing collaborative work through teams and working collaboratively towards a common goal (2005, 09:56). Using portals while working with a customer, you can provide a restricted view of the network so the user can also see the work you are doing and collaboratively provide feedback for the product. Destra uses good quality of equipment ensuing good quality is provided to the customers. Destra network includes various equipment like routers used to move the data, firewalls preventing unauthorized access to the network, Intrusion detection systems, switches directing data to required data to the servers, servers, and last backup databases (12:06). An intranet, which is a private network for connecting employees. Destra also uses EMAIL for networking, having internal mail servers, and sharing mail servers for customers (11:07). Using good equipment’s and good structure of network increases the chances of a good network among customers. Networking helps the business increase contacts in like or related fields that help expand business towards new customers and partners and support the overall business growth. Networking helps to notice what other businesses are using and learn a new strategy

to help grow business. Destra business has used network technology with many businesses, for example, mp3.com.au (2005, 09:06). Destra uses networking and different technology like dial-up ISP, Fibre access and, data centres. Destra networks include dedicated links with LAN, which allow data sharing between two computers and security provided by a firewall to restrict the data access and save data. Moreover, also have a Virtual private network (VPN) in Sydney (2005, 04:56).
