1. What makes a melody particularly memorable? A melody is more memorable when we can feel how moving it is to us. The melody can be memorable as it can be viewed as a pattern. The rhymes are put together to create a melody which shows the notes that varies in different pitch levels.

2. How does the structure of a melody compare with the form of a sentence? Melody is like a form of a sentence by the phrase in music as a unit of meaning within a huge structure. It should be arranged correctly to hear the tones and notes to the highest and lowest on a musical scale.

3. The great composer Joseph Haydn said: "It is the melody which is the charm of music, and it is that which is most difficult to produce. The invention of a fine melody is a work of genius." What is your take or feelings concerning a melody after reading this quotation by Haydn? My feelings on hearing melodies has been questionable due to knowing what is needed to make a melody sound beautiful. Melodies are keys to someone`s heart and the people who play are smart and wise based upon what type of melody they`re playing.

4. How do composers vary rhythm and meter to keep the music interesting? The metrical pattern can be varied by accented beats and by alternating accented beats in patterns of meters.

Ch.2 1. How does dissonance make the listener feel, and why? Dissonance is the tension part of harmony. It is a disagreeable combination of notes, because the notes do not sound like they go together. Thus, the listener may feel conflict from the music. Dissonance at an extreme level can sound harsh. Harmony adds depth to music and it is comprised of chords leading it in a vertical direction. Melody the notes move along in a horizontal direction....
