The definitions stated in this theory is very broad as it cover all areas of nursing practice and could be applied in every setting. The 14 fundamental needs of human in this theory are not the only things that a person needs in order to survive to maintain his/her health. There are so many changes and new things today that a patient needs in order to survive or recover from his/her disease. But still, I can say that those 14 fundamental needs belongs to the basic needs that a patient or person needs in order to be in a good condition. Henderson’s theory on the definition of health is based on the individual’s ability to function independently as what was inside the 14 fundamental needs of human.

She also insisted that nurses do not follow doctor’s order; rather they follow in a philosophy which allows physicians to give orders to patients or other healthcare team members, nurses’ function in the nurse– physician relationship.
