Footwork

Consistently uses correct amount of steps away from basket. Footwork is satisfactory.

Ball Control

Follow-through

Correct amount of steps away from the basket. First step without dribbling is with the right foot. Second step is with left food. Keeping the ball under complete control. Dribbles below the hips. Finger tips used; not palms. Placing right hand on top of ball when getting close to the basket. Carries the ball towards the shoulder height while left foot helps push of the floor to reach basket. Lays the ball gently off the backboard above the goal. Follows through with right hand to finish movement. Full flexion in the wrist and extension in the elbow.

Unacceptable Inconsistent control approaching the basket. Not approaching goal from correct angle. Eyes and head are pointed at the ball. Poor stability and balance. Incorrect timing on steps. Consistently stepping with wrong foot. Too many steps away from basket.

Ball is under moderate control. Dribble is around hip height. Finger tips and palms are used. Ball is partially protected when going up to the basket.

Ball is not under control and if often being lost. Dribble is consistently high. Uses palms. Ball is not protected when going up towards the basket.

Ball gets up to the goal. Follow through is somewhat consistent with wrist flexion and elbow extension.

Ball is thrown off the backboard. Follow through hand is non-existent. No flexion in the wrist. Elbow is not fully extended....
