What issues did labor unions attempt to resolve in the early 1900s? In the early 1900s the issue that the labor union was trying to resolve was the bad wages and the really bad working conditions. How successful were they at resolving these issues? They were unsuccessful at resolving the issues which caused a loss of people who were associated with the American Federation of Labor. Why was there such a struggle between business and labor, why was it so difficult for them to come together. Why were strikes so violent? (Not being recognized, the issues they were trying to resolve, etc.) They was such a struggle because there was so many groups involved with solving the issue. It was difficult for them to come together because the issue involved money. The strikes were violent because they weren’t resolving the issues.
