PRONOMI DOPPI O COMBINATI (double object pronouns) --These are the tricky ones to remember and to use; remember, practice makes perfect. --Look at the chart below: a. the indirect object pronoun precedes the direct object pronoun; b. the final "i" of indirect object pronouns becomes an "e" in the double object pronouns c. the indirect o.p. "gli" and "le" become "glie" and combine with the direct o.p. (lo, la, li, le) to make one single word d. the indirect o.p. "loro" follows the verb; you can avoid this by using "glielo" instead (this practice is increasingly common in Italian today) --PRONOMI DOPPI follow the same placement rules as single pronouns: 1. they precede a conjugated verb ("Le hai scritto la lettera?"
