Job Roles and Responsibilities The main roles and responsibilities are, "Complete intake, assessment, and treatment plan development. Utilize evidence-based practices to provide psychotherapy to clients/families. Complete progress notes and therapy notes related to treatment. Complete discharge paperwork when applicable. Provide teletherapy services when necessary. Engage in supervision with clinical staff when appropriate." (Compass Counseling Services PLLC, 2020) Prerequisites for the Job The job posting states that a Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health, or other related fields. Primary Industry or Type of Business The job listed is a large corporation that is in the human services field. Connection to Psychology This job is related to a lot of psychology concepts that are in this course, like motivation and self determination. As far as perspectives I see all of them because being a therapist you need to have the understanding of behavior and how different factors can influence it.

The job involves completing paperwork while seeing clients so having selfregulation and self-awareness is a necessary need to be able to be successful. Social Awareness and Conflict Resolution I would need require social awareness and conflict resolution because I need to be able to effectively communicate with my clients and coworkers. I would also need conflict resolution to help my clients with their problems they are facing in their lives. Ethical Judgment and Empathy Working with people as a therapist requires empathy and ethical judgement because I need to be able to understand the struggles they are experiencing. The webtext states that empathy involves recognizing "how social structures, cultures, and situations can affect people's experiences, behaviors, and emotions"(“What Is Emotional Intelligence?”, 2020) To be able to help them make good choices about their struggles I would need ethical judgement.
