PSY 260 Project Three Milestone Antonya Dabbs Janine Holstein December 12, 2021 Select the topic and explain why you selected that topic. Your response should be about 2 to 3 sentences. The topic I have chosen was Police Striking Adults. I have chosen this topic because for the past few years in media you will hear about police brutality. Create an annotated bibliography entry for your first article. Your response should be about 8 to 10 sentences that include the following elements:  A description of the main purpose or goal of the article  A description of the approach the authors took in their research The main purpose of this article was to bring attention the views that the public have on police officers' treatment base on specific race. The findings of the study were taken from previous studies. In the article it states that Blacks and African Americans in America is treated less fairly by police officers compares to people that are whites. According the data given blacks were five times more likely than whites to state they were unfairly treated by a police officer, specially by being stopped while "driving black". The authors of this article use old studies to present their data. However, I do not believe this study does not accurately represent the population. Your response should be about 8 to 10 sentences that include the following elements:  A description of the main purpose or goal of the article  A description of the approach the authors took in their research The main purpose of this study was to identify racial-ethnic differences in the attitudes of police misconduct and if there is a consistent pattern. In the data it shows that there is a difference and larger proportion of African Americans that believe that police misconduct to be a major problem compare to other races. From this study, data was collected from a telephone survey in a town in California from younger, middle age, and high income, and well-educated people. I believe that the variables of this town do not represent the population. Describe the difference in communication style of the two articles. Your response should be about 3 to 5 sentences. Consider the following in your response:  Do the articles reach a similar conclusion?  Do the articles present similar information?  Do the articles consider the role of visuals in the same way? 1

Do the articles present the findings in a convincing way, and is one more effective? How do the tone and style of the articles compare, and what does that mean for the reader? I believe that this article does have similar communication styles and have a similar conclusion. The main difference that I see is that the second article focus on a specific type of community. and the first article was base off the general public. Both articles came to the conclusion that there is police misconduct in the black community compare to a white community.
