LG Politics and Queer politics isn't taking into account how we live at intersections of difference What if our politics centered punks, bulldaggers and welfare queens? What do they need? o Actual healthcare Bulldagger: epithet: a bad thing to call someone e.g. dyke, used to marginalize butch lesbians o Negative identity term
Norms What does anti-normative politics look like? Antinorms are still part of the norm What is the goal? To change the norm? seek accommodations within the norm? Is it possible to be fully inclusive? What are the risks/pitfalls of bringing in people who don't understand your experience? Antinormative politics Green New Deal None of us fill the norms Opposite gender bathrooms, changing rooms Cohen- queer politics, queer manifesto- we don’t want to assimilate we want to change society o The myth of assimilation must be severed Real change occurs when we are inclusive Main dividing line is procreation and 'creating a family' Same sex marriage Is it a retrogressive movement and act?
