First Year Seminar 08 November 2020 Reflection

I am grateful to my teacher for the guest lecturer we had last time! It was Elise Cregg with the presentation on Exercise and Nutrition! I love this topic so much, I have always been interested in nutrition science and I am also trying to eat healthy, to exercise and have a healthy lifestyle! She was talking about so many interesting tips, for example about the codes on the products, how to find out the organic products! That was really useful for me, now I always check the code while shopping! She was also talking about how useful it is to sleep well and I personally can not agree with her, as I had some problems with it in the past, but now I know that to sleep well is one of the essential things in a healthy lifestyle!I usually sleep 7-8 hours a day, for me it’s ok! I am doing my grocery shopping once a week and I mostly buy the same products every week. Sometimes I really make a plan before I go shopping in order not to forget something. I can say that I don't know much about coupons in American supermarkets, so I don't use them. Honestly, I don't buy so much food, because I eat as clearly as I can. I usually have oatmeal with fruits or avocado toast with eggs for my breakfast. And i prefer fish rather than chicken, so i mostly have fish with vegetables for my dinner. All in all, I mostly buy fruits and vegetables and then I just try to combine them with proteins or oils. I have had

2 this habit from my childhood. I can’t say that I have a diet, no! I just eat healthy all the time. I have been a ballroom dancer so it was important for me to eat healthy and now i am just doing the same, because i used to eat, i can’t live without it. I always check the nutrition labels while shopping because sometimes it seems that it is a healthy product, but actually it has a lot of sugar inside! I personally do my grocery shopping in the whole foods market, because it is an organic shop and most of the products there are healthy! Of course sometimes I have cheat meal days and I let myself eat something tasty, for example chocolate, I adore it! To create a habit you just need to understand why you are doing this, why you want to eat healthy food rather than fast food! You need to love and take care of your body and always give preference to what is best for you! When you will understand that in your head, then it will be easier for you to do it! So for me physical wellness is the essential thing of a lifestyle. Eating healthy, sleeping well, exercising, doing meditation all that make me feel so energetic every day and from that depends on my studies and my success! I Exercise every day! Usually I do my training at home. I don’t like going to the gym, it’s just not for me, but sometimes I do, I go and do cardio! I always exercise not more than 30 minutes a day, cause it’s better to exercise regularly for 30 minutes than for 2 hours but once a week! I always work on my abs, legs, arms, and full body training. Of course there are some days when I don’t feel like doing sport, then I just do stretching for my whole body and actually it’s essential also to do stretching everyday after workouts in order to stretch our muscles! Now as we all have to sit so much at the computer, we must exercise or do some stretches so our body won’t feel bad
