Introduction:

The Internet has now been around for several decades and has changed the way we do all kinds of things. Everyone can agree that technology and the internet are one of the prominent symbols of the 21st century mainly for being a primary source of news, communication, purchasing essential goods and providing numerous services. The attempt to describe in detail the many services now available via the Internet and the World Wide Web would be a never-ending task, because the list gets longer every day. II.

Definition: An online service refers to any information and services provided over the Internet. These services not only allow subscribers to communicate with each other, but they also provide unlimited access to information. Online services can range from simple to complex. A basic online service may help subscribers gain needed data through a search engine, while a complex one might be an online mortgage application from a bank. Online services may be free or paid. Online services were first introduced in 1979 through CompuServe and The Source. These organizations were generated to provide for the needs of personal computer subscribers, and they paved the way for data accessibility. These early services made use of text-based interfaces in order to allow subscribers to browse through current events, join special interest groups and communicate with other subscribers. Soon after, more services popped up like America Online, Prodigy, DELPHI and many more. As the Internet became more popular, these organizations adapted to include Web access. Online services are now so common, prevalent and often even free that most subscribers do not even realize that they are using one.

Online services: In fact there are a lot of online services, if we try to list them; we may end up with a big book. But in this research paper we tried to list the most important and common ones. Electronic Email Services: Also known as webmail, online email service providers enable users to send, receive and review e-mail from their Web browsers. Email services offer easy access and

storage of e-mail messages for users who are not connected to the Internet from their usual location. When logging into an email service, users simply enter the Webmail Web site URL in their browser’s address or location field, and use their Webmail account by typing in a username and password. Instead of the e-mail being downloaded to the computer used for checking the e-mail account from, the messages will stay on the provider’s server, allowing the user to access all their e-mail messages regardless of what system or ISP is being used. Some of the most popular online email services are Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, Hotmail and AOL Mail. We take Gmail as an example:

Figure 1 : entering the email address and password in order to sign in

Figure 2 after signing in, this window will be opened in which you can read and send messages as well

In order to send a message you can follow the following steps:

Online file sharing: Online file sharing is the process of sharing a file with one or more users via the Internet. It enables sharing and accessing the file through an Internet connection from an Internet-based server or online data storage/sharing service. Online file sharing is also known as Internet file sharing, Internet file transfer and Web file transfer. Online file sharing typically requires a file to be hosted or stored on a Web server or any Internet-enabled server. Once the file is stored on the server, it is generally assigned a unique URL. The end user can access the file through the unique URL. Online file sharing can also be achieved through a cloud-based storage or collaboration solution that requires users to upload the file on the cloud server or a storage platform. End users can access, view, edit and download the file by logging into the server/application or directly through the file URL. The file can be accessed through the Internet, regardless of the geographical location of the user. File hosting service: A file hosting service, cloud storage service, online file storage provider, or cyber locker is an internet hosting service specifically designed to host user files. It allows users to upload files that could be accessed over the internet after a user name and password or other authentication is provided. Typically, the services allow HTTP access, and sometimes FTP access. Related services are content-displaying hosting services (i.e. video and image), virtual storage, and remote backup. Personal file storage services are aimed at private individuals, offering a sort of "network storage" for personal backup, file access, or file distribution. Users can upload their files and share them publicly or keep them password-protected. Document-sharing services allow users to share and collaborate on document files. These services originally targeted files such as PDFs, word processor documents, and spreadsheets. However many remote file storage services are now aimed at allowing users to share and synchronize all types of files across all the devices they use. Some of the most popular online hosting files services: Mega, Google Drive

Online Internet Telephony service: Internet telephony is a type of communications technology that allows voice calls and other telephony services like fax, SMS and other voice-messaging applications to be transmitted using the Internet as a connection medium. Software under this technology is cost-effective and convenient because it allows the user to communicate through fax, voice and video calls anywhere in the world as long as there is an Internet connection. In this way, users are able to bypass the charges that are common in traditional telephone services. However, the quality of this service is not as good as that of traditional circuit-switched networks used in traditional telephone services because it is very dependent on the quality and speed of the Internet connection. Internet telephony is also called IP telephony or broadband telephony. It is now possible to make free "telephone calls" from one computer to another almost anywhere in the world using VoIP software packages like Skype. Instead of a telephone number, users are identified by a unique name on the Skype network. Providing both the person making the call and the person being called have the Skype software package installed and online, they can conduct a conversation using standard headsets. It is also possible to make calls from a computer running Skype to a landline or mobile phone. Although there will be a metered charge for this service, the rates are in most cases only a fraction of standard national or international charges.

- Video Conferencing: Video conferencing is a visual communication session between two or more users regardless of their location, featuring audio and video content transmission in real time. In broad terms, video conferencing software is a solution that allows two or more persons to talk and see each other remotely. Initially video conferencing software only enabled users to make video calls or hold group video conferences. However, as technology advanced, video conferencing software acquired plenty of helpful tools and features for remote communication and learning. Today, video conferencing is rather a tool for integrated into video collaboration and unified communications platforms that also offer screen sharing, slideshow, recording, instant messaging, project management tools, and telephony integration among other features. As an increasing number of companies switch to remote work, video conferencing is gradually becoming the new normal, shaping the way we communicate, learn and work. Conference call providers have the technology to support large conference calling sessions with thousands of participants. With that technology, conference call providers offer businesses hassle-free conference calling and collaboration. In turn, businesses can save money on travel costs and increase productivity. They also offer various value-added features that make outsourcing conferencing services a costeffective solution for businesses. Among the well-known online conference providers: Zoom, Google meet, GoToMeeting… etc. - Zoom: Zoom has a free plan and a paid one. The paid plan is actually cheaper than GoToMeeting. Zoom's free plan only offers 40 minutes of conferencing. It also limits the number of call participants to three people. With an upgraded plan, businesses can have as many users as it wants, unlimited meetings and video conferencing that includes many more features. Some of the advanced features include active speaker view, dual stream for dual screens, and full-screen views. Participants can even call in to join the conference. The web conferencing feature also includes an MP4 recording of meetings, a personal meeting ID, application or desktop specific sharing, private and group chat, and a virtual whiteboard. Zoom also includes mouse and keyboard sharing free of charge. It is also possible to share the screen of an iPhone or iPad app. The downside to Zoom is that it only allows meetings up to 40 minutes in length. However, users can hold an unlimited number of meetings. 1 on 1 meetings is not limited to any particular time duration.

- GoToMeeting: is one of a few highly popular web conferencing services that people recognize by name. Even when using the free plan, this platform provides one of the easiest methods to host conference calls. GoToMeeting also has screen sharing capabilities. The one-click meeting solution makes it easy for beginners to figure out the software. Anyone who uses GoToMeeting can also start meetings using the app. Meetings can also be initiated using Microsoft Office programs, chat links, and email. Anyone using GoToMeeting's free option is limited to only audio conferencing. Video conferencing is limited to paid plans. However, the web audio conferencing comes with the option for VoIP voice chat. Teams can configure their conference calls to whatever meets their needs. The only other problem with GoToMeeting is the fact that the free plan limits the number of people who can join a conference. This platform only allows three conference call participants. While this may seem limiting and possibly problematic for larger enterprises, it's ideal for smaller ones. Anyone seeking a quick web conferencing solution for a small team should consider this web conferencing software. - Google meet: Google Meet (formerly known as Hangouts Meet) is a videocommunication service developed by Google. It is one of two apps that constitute the replacement for Google Hangouts, the other being Google Chat Here are the steps you can follow if you want to start a video conference on Google meet:

After clicking on ‘New meeting’, these options appear where you can choose what you want

If you want an immediate meeting, you can choose the second option. After choosing it, this window will be opened

Then you share the link with your target population and start the meeting

Downloading service: Downloading generally transfers entire files for local storage and later use, as contrasted with streaming, where the data is used nearly immediately, while the transmission is still in progress, and which may not be stored long-term. Websites that offer streaming media or media displayed in-browser, such as YouTube, increasingly place restrictions on the ability of users to save these materials to their computers after they have been received. - downloading mp3 files: The first step: you google ‘YouTube MP3’

After choosing this, this window will be opened

Then you go to YouTube and copy the link of the song you want to download

You paste it in this area, and click on download or télécharger

Finally you download it

- downloading Mp4 file: you follow the same process but you instead of googling YouTube Mp3, you google YouTube MP4 Online streaming service: Streaming media is multimedia that is constantly received by and presented to an end user while being delivered by a provider over the Internet. The verb to stream refers to the process of delivering or obtaining media in a continuous manner from a particular source. Streaming refers to the delivery method of the medium, rather than the medium itself. Distinguishing delivery method from the media distributed applies specifically to telecommunications networks, as most of the traditional media delivery systems are either inherently streaming (e.g. radio, television) or inherently nonstreaming (e.g. books, videotape, audio CDs). There are challenges with streaming content on the Internet. For example, users whose Internet connection lacks sufficient bandwidth may experience stops, lags, or slow buffering of the content. And users lacking compatible hardware or software systems may be unable to stream certain content. With the use of buffering content just a few seconds in advance, the quality can get much better. Livestreaming is the delivery of Internet content in real-time much as live television broadcasts content over the airwaves via a television signal. Livestreaming requires a form of source media (e.g. a video camera, an audio interface, screen capture software), an encoder to digitize the content, a media publisher, and a content delivery

network to distribute and deliver the content. Livestreaming does not need to be recorded at the origination point, although it frequently is. Nowadays streaming is most prevalent in many video on demand and streaming television services. Some popular streaming services include Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, Hulu, Paramount+, Peacock, Prime Video, YouTube, and other sites which stream films and television shows; Apple Music, YouTube Music and Spotify, which stream music; and video game live streaming services such as Twitch. Online learning service: “Online education is electronically supported learning that relies on the Internet for teacher/student interaction and the distribution of class materials.” Online education encompasses a tremendous number of topics, subject areas, disciplines and degree programs. In its broadest terms, online education simply means acquiring knowledge through the use of instruction provided via the internet. More specifically, this education is acknowledged to be pedagogical rather than self-selected. In other words, reading an article about birds in a periodical online wouldn't be classified as "online education," but enrolling in a video course about ornithology given by a teacher would be considered online education. The online class definition has changed over several years, and in terms of format, the online learning definition can take many forms. Some online educational programs are conducted exclusively through assigned lessons and assessments administered online. Others take the form of remote lectures where students join the class via the cameras on their laptops, and the instructor teaches or lectures from his own computer. Other courses are a combination of the two, requiring students to do a fair amount of independent research. In some cases, video lectures may be prerecorded, allowing students the opportunity to access the courses on their own time, which can be helpful for students who have a demanding work schedule or family obligations that would prevent them from attending a course in person at the same time every week. This is known as "asynchronous online learning." The idea of online learning is believed to be spawned from the internet and digital technology, but the idea of it is quite old. In Britain in the 1700s, interested citizens were able to enroll in correspondence courses, where the instructor would send out materials and assignments, and students would complete them and mail them back to the instructor to be assessed. - E-Learning: While it sounds very similar to the online learning definition, eeducation, or e-learning, is a different system of education that similarly uses

technology to enrich or facilitate the learning process. In the case of e-learning, it is possible for the bulk of the instruction students receive to take place inside the classroom, but, generally speaking, assignments are completed or enhanced with the use of technological tools and the internet. While many people in the field of education had long believed that the human element was critical for successful pedagogical instruction, it has been proven that e-learning is effective, particularly when training professionals regarding new software, materials, policies or advancements in their sector. Conclusion: There are a lot of services of we can thank the internet for mainly because of the tremendous benefits they provide us with. They literally revolutionized all the fields in our lives, facilitated, made everything in our hands, and saved us a lot of efforts and time as well....
