My review of “The celebrated jumping frog of calaveras country” by Mark Twain. The story In compliance with the request of a friend about sending the narrator to an old man called ,Simon wheeler, to look for Leonidas W. Smiley, he found Simon Wheeler dozing comfortably by the barroom stove of the old, dilapidated tavern in the ancient mining camp of Angel's, the narrator asked him, what he knew of Rev. Leonidas W. Smiley. Simon replay that he don’t know him then he backed the narrator into the corner, then he want to tell a story and the narrator didn't want to Interrupt him then he start with, there was a feller here once by the name of Jim Smiley he love to gamble on everything , Smiley had a mare was called the fifteen- minute nag it was always wining although she was slow and always sick , and he had a little small bull pup, that when you look at him you'd think he wont worth a cent he spent money on him until his health improved and then put him in bets Well, Smiley had rat-tarriers, and chicken cocks, and tom- cats, and all of them kind of things, till you couldn't rest, Jim catches a frog and he named him Danial ,and train him and he was jumping so high not like any other frog , he was proud of him, Smiley kept the beast in a little lattice box . One day a feller a stranger in the camp, he was come across him with his box, the strange man said he well bet but he doesn't have frog, so Jim go and look for a frog and leaves the stranger with Danial, when Jim is away the stranger open Danial mouth and took a tea- spoon and filled him full of quail shot filled him pretty near up to his chin, then Jim return after founding a frog, then they but their frogs down .stranger frog starts jumping while Danial doesn’t move ,then Jim pays the $40 bet, when the stranger go away ,Jim noticed that Danial is much heavier and moving slowly then Jim realize he was cheated , Jim try to catch the stranger but he was gone. In that time someone called Simone then he excused the narrator to go out and see him, the narrator decided to leave ,then old Simone stopped him and offered him another story of the one-eyed cow then the narrator refused and leaves.
