Description

Information for students RMIT Creds have been embedded into your course and program to help you build skills that will improve your employability, career outcomes and life skills. When you successfully complete a Cred, you can claim and share a digital badge as proof. Visit RMIT Creds for full information.

Getting help For Cred enrolment issues and IT* issues, complete the ITS Raise an Incident form (in the Business service field select ‘RMIT Creds’).

* Only IT issues that are the result of failures in RMIT IT infrastructure should be raised with ITS. For Cred content issues, use your Cred’s Canvas Ask your instructor a question feature in the Cred’s Canvas shell (pictured right). Do not use the Canvas Support Chat or Hotline features. For general Cred information, see RMIT Creds.

Creds listed on your Canvas dashboard If you see a Cred in your Canvas Dashboard, it is there because it has been embedded into the course. Do not start the Cred listed on your dashboard until you have been instructed to do so by your course teacher. You should also review the course’s Cred instructions.

Attempts Unless specifically stated*: • • •

All Creds have an 80% pass mark. Auto-assessed Creds, you receive two quiz attempts. Facilitated Creds, you receive only one attempt.

If you do not pass, you must wait until next semester before re-enrolling. * For example, some Vocational Education Creds require 100% score in 3 attempts to pass.

Cred submission lead times When completing an assessment, keep in mind any required Cred marking lead-time. The Cred landing page in your course will confirm whether it is an Auto-assessed Cred, or a Facilitated Cred.

Auto-assessed Creds – allow up to 24 hours to verify the badge.

Facilitated Creds – allow up to 10 working days for marking time. Please plan your submission dates accordingly.

Same Cred, previously completed If the Cred is part of a course assessment and have completed the cred previously, you can submit the same link for the badge you were previously awarded.

Extra attempts at a Cred Extra attempts for the final course assessment cannot be requested. The only exception is if a Cred is part of a course assessment, in which case you may be eligible to apply for Special Consideration.

Student appeals/Special consideration Standard Appeals policy applies such as Special Consideration.

Late submission and extensions Standard assessment policy applies.

Claiming your badge and supplying the unique URL as evidence Once you have successfully passed your Cred, you will be able to claim a digital badge and supply it, if required, as evidence of completion. Watch the process of claiming a badge (YouTube). If your Cred forms part of your course assessment you may be required to submit a unique URL as evidence in your course assessment. If so, follow the instructions below:

Step 1: Request your badge When you have completed all the required assessment for your credential, you will see the ‘Congratulations’ page in Canvas.

On that page you can click the Request your badge button. You can also go directly to the My Credentials tab in the left-hand navigation (highlighted in a yellow box below on the next page). This will only appear inside an RMIT Credential. This will not be available from your regular courses

Step 2: Accept the badge This will lead you to the My Credentials sign on page. If you have not signed on before you will need to check the box and sign in. The system uses your RMIT student number and regular RMIT password. Once you have signed in the first time the system will remember you. You should see a screen like this. Your available badges will show on the screen. When a badge is earned, it will appear in the inbox. The green tick lets you know that the badge is available. Click the red accept button. If this is your first time claiming a badge you can decide to make your badge public or not and that you trust RMIT as an issuer. The badge is now claimed and is ready to be shared.

Step 3: Copy the URL for Submission To share the badge, go to the earned tab (second from the left in the upper navigation).

Hover in the top-right of the badge and select the red plus sign when it appears.

Click on the Share button below the badge.

Select ‘Create link’ in the ‘Share a link’ box.

The system will now have created your unique link. Select Copy.

The link is now copied to your computer’s clipboard and may be pasted within your course assessment document or submitted as required by your teacher....
