Introduction: History/BackGround:

Daraz was originally founded as an online fashion retailer in Pakistan in 2012 by Farees Shah a student of LUMS university and muneeb maayr. They started daraz because there was no trusted virtual market place for customers but there was huge demand of it in pakistan. Daraz's initial funding came from Rocket internet and focused on the fashion sector, but was changed to a general EBusiness marketplace in 2015.

Ali BABA and Daraz;

In May 2018, Daraz announced it was acquired as a wholly owned subsidiary ofchinese multinational e-commerace company Ali baba group under Mr Jack Ma Yun for an undisclosed amount, as part of Alibaba’s expansion into South Asia. Daraz is now a part of Ali baba franchise.

Daraz’s Logo: Daraz logo has a D filled with five different colorwhile the other letters are in navy blue color. Whole logo means “diversity,” “brightness,” and “extravagance.”

Its new logo is in orange colored box this box has a play button in it which idicates their new live streaming activities first they stream T20 WorldCup and now PSL-7

Products and users: Daraz has 15million+ products different categories for the user of almost all the ages thats the reason it has 4million daily users.

Web Daraz App(Android/PlayStore) DarazApp(IOS/AppleStore) DarazApp(MicroStore) DarazApp(Huawei/AppGallery)

Storage difference on Systems for DarazApp: Web: For web daraz.pk doesnt requires any storage it can be operated directly by putting www.daraz.pk in the URL bar of the browser.

PlayStore: In Android you have to download the Daraz app through playstore it gets stored in the mobiles internal storage.

AppleStore: In apple app store you have to download the app from the app store but it gets stored in the icloud storage as apple doesnt provide other storage option.

MicroSoftAPP: In ms app store the app gets stored in phones internal storage.

Huawei AppGallery: In huawei App gallery the app needs to be download first and then it gets stored in the mobile internal storage.

Management Information Systems of Daraz.pk 1. Transaction Processing System(TPS): Daraz has a two dimensional transaction system one is of buyer and one is of the sellers of the goods it means the persons who opens a virtual shop on daraz has its seperate tps and the buyer has its seperate system.

2. Management Reporting System(MRS):



SEARCH REPORTS:

Search allows you to narrow the list of dimensions in your report to the rows of specific interest. As the customers search through the daraz search engine daraz shows variety of products of his intrest these all are search reports available for customers. As we can see in the picture when clothes are written in the search bar all the reports related to clothes are automatically shown for customer.

Promotions: In addition to this daraz gives promo codes after purchase to avail discount on next purchase. Daraz also show promotion as it gives streaming of Live T20 WorldCup 2021 on their App. It gives deal to the customer as Blessed Friday and now adays there is Pakistan super league streaming on daraz 12.12 year end sale on 12 december in which they are giving 75% off on 3 crore products. Early on they given 11,11 Sale to their customers 

ORDER CONFIRMATION REPORT:

order confirmation reports include a confirmation passed by the customer after he chooses and orders his desired product. First he searches for the product and gets search reports after selecting required searchreport next step is selecting the best product by comparing diffrent products checking their details of the product after selecting customer gives adress and details required for confirmation report after putting details he clicks on confirm and confirms the order. 



ORDER RANKING REPORT:You can also rank or give review about the quality of your order product on daraz. You have to go to my account there you will select the ordered product you want to give review about after that give a honest Rank or review about that product you can even give rank to shipping service and Seller too.

EMAIL REPORT:

Once your Daraz order has been dispatched, you will receive an email containing your order number and others details of your product that you ordered from daraz,pk. you can check your order status from that email too by clicking order status link available on it. 

ORDER CANCELATION REPORT:

Daraz also provides order cancellation option for its customers who changes their mind after ordering products while being over excited and realises later that they dont need that product.  To Cancel Daraz order, Open Daraz App and tap Account  In My Order section, tap on View All  From your orders, tap the one you wish to cancel.  Tap the Cancel button and fill the cancellation report.  Select your reason for cancellation.  Make sure you read and agree with the cancellation report.  Then tap the Submit button. 

ORDER RETURN REPORT

If your product is damaged, defective, incorrect or incomplete at the time of delivery, please raise a return request on Daraz app or website. Return request must be raised within 14 days for DarazMall items, or within 7 days for nonDarazMall items from the date of delivery. If your product is eligible for a refund, you can choose your preferred refund method based on the return reports. The shipping fee is refunded along with the amount paid for your returned product. The time required to complete a refund depends on the refund method you have selected in the return reports. The refund time starts once the quality check is completed.  Select the order you wish to return and click on the Manage Order button.  Click on Return Items.  Fill in the Return report form. The available return options (pickup/drop-off) will be displayed in this report.  Pack your return package securely,. Write your order number & return tracking number clearly on the outer side of the package.  Head to your nearest drop-off point or wait for collection by our pick-up service.  ORDER TRACKING REPORT:

Placed your order on Daraz finally? Now it’s time to receive the package delivery on time as per the declared timeline as you can now always track your order through daraz order tracker. First, open your Daraz app and make sure you’re logged in. Now, go to Account where you’ll be able to see your most recent orders with the title “Track Package”. Select the order that you would like to track. From their you’ll reach the Consolidated Delivery page as shown in image above here u will see tracking reports of your order these reports includes  The big orange box is there to show you an estimation of the date and day you will receive you order.  Just below the Delivery Partner, you can see you Tracking Number.  And below that are the Delivery Tracking details that indicates the current status of your package.

3. Decision Support System(DSS): Decision support system are interactive software based systems intended to help managers in decision making by acessing large volume of information generated from various related information systems involved in organizational business processes such as office automation system and transaction system or external or internal information In daraz DSS tells which product is getting out of stock so that seller can restock it. If there is last product remaining and many customers buys it then in this case Decision support system will tell who acess that product first and make and payment further in payment it will give periority on payment method basis as follows,  Cash on delivery has least periority.  Bank transfer or jazz cash/upaisa etc has second periority.  Payment made through daraz E-Wallet has first periority. means the customer who pays for that last product from his E-wallet will get that product. Thats why before daraz 11/11 or 12/12 or blessed friday they already give a note on their website to deposit cash in Ewallet to not to miss their flash sale.

4. Electronic Payment System(EPS): Electronic payment system is a system which helps the customer or user to make online payment for their shopping. Daraz uses following payment systems for its users: 

Credit/Debit Card (VISA/MasterCard): It is a plastic card having a magnetic numbers and code on it. It has some fixed amount to spend customer has to repay the amount to spend. Customer has to repay the amount after some time.

E-Wallet: E-Wallet allows you to store credit card and bank account numbers in a secure enviroment and eleminates the need to enter in account information everytime when making payment.    

In order to make payment through Daraz wallet. Activate your Daraz Wallet and deposit some money. Add your favourite products to the cart and Proceed to Pay. Now make your payment to complete your transaction. Remember only Habib Bank Limited is associated with Daraz E-Wallet.

Easy Monthly Installments: Daraz offers Easy Monthly Installment plan (EMI) on Zero Markup/down payment (on some plans) for credit card holders of Silkbank, MCB and Bank Alfalah. Instant approval, no mark ups and no down payments. EMI plan applies for all products with a value of Rs. 10,000 or above How to buy on installments from Daraz       

To purchase from Daraz on (EMI) installment, first select your desired product and add it to the cart. The cart should include only one product worth a minimum of Rs. 10,000/Select check out, proceed to payment and select installment as your payment method. Select your bank, your EMI tenure and enter your card details. You will receive a code on your registered phone number & email address Enter the code and place your order. Please remember that it takes up to 7 working days for your EMI plan to be activated. This is the time period between your order placement and your billing date.  Once your EMI plan has processed, you will receive a SMS from your bank.

JazzCash/Upaisa: You can also make payment on daraz for your product through jazz cash or u paisa account. All you have to do is select your desired product go for payment method and select jazz cash or u paisa then give information of your mobile account and send the amount of the product to the retailer. From your jazz cash or Upaisa account.

SWOT Analysis of Daraz,pk STRENGTHS:    

Market leader in online Pakistani market. Strong brand awareness and recognition Fast response rate (on average replies within 2-3 hours of customer queries and orders) It becomes even more stronger by the acqusition of Ali baba with their advance technology and policy.

WEAKNESS: 

8 percent spam score.

Higher percentage of dissatisfied customers. Lack of trust among general people. Low quality products. Delivery Charges. Seller fraud by delivering fake products,

Oppurtunities:    

Rapid growth in internet users more customers. Can improve page loading speed. Profit through cricket streaming activities. Low business starting cost for seller on daraz.

Threats:    

Safety issue. Competitors. Not all the parts of the country has internet so daraz cant reach there as daraz is an online platform. Customers farud on the delivery of the product.

Impact of Daraz on society Good: 

 

Daraz is providing a platform for the people who cant afford doing business in a market in market place you have to provide products in a bulk to show to customer but on daraz you can start your business with even few products there is no restriction. In market you have to pay rent for shops but on daraz there is no such policy so everyone is welcome here to start their own business and make money. Secondly daraz intruduced virtual market for its customers so if any customers is busy and cant go to maket for shopping he can do shopping through daraz sitting at his home. If the user want any unique product For example he wants a sindhi ajrak for a cultural festival and he is from lahore he can order that ajrak from daraz.pk and it will be delivered within few days straight from Karachi(sindh) to lahore on your door step.

Bad:   

By shopping online will make you lazy as when you go to market physically you walk in market to find the product you want to buy. The sellers do fraud to customers as they show an orginal product on daraz but when it gets delieverd vot turn out to be a fake copy of the product. Buyers also do frauds as they buy the products but when the delivery guy arrives they don’t pick up the call and don’t take the product from them.

Conclusion Daraz is one of the biggest Online market in pakistan aswell as outside pakistan. Millons of users enter their website and apps on daily basis. They have 15million products for users of different categories. Slowly it is defeating its competitors with great margins and becoming number 1 virtual market of pakistan. I suggest everyone to shop from daraz as it is easy and satisfying shopping from home in this busy life.
