ROMANTIC POETRY WILLIAM BLAKE He was born in London in lower class family. At the age of 10 he was sent to a drawing school where he first saw copies of works by Raphael Michelangelo and others Italian artists. WORKS: SONGS OF INNOCENCE AND OF EXXPERIENCE where here we can find a lot of figure of world of innocence full of joy and happiness, Externally it seems like a Gard of Eden where we can find the lamb and the child both symbol of CHRIST. The lamb is shown as FREE and HAPPY , in the second stanza of the poem the identification of the lamb with CHRIST is confirmed by the voice of a child Blake is the first to write the “POETRY OF THE CHILD “ which takes up so much romantic poetry, because he not only describes children in his songs he is also interested in their special world ,their states of mind represented in their language. For the first time in blake we find ROMANTIC DUALISM: he rebelled his art and his life against an aristocratic concept but at the same time his marked individualism an the refusal to rely on traditions.

JOHN KEATS Was born in London ,his father died when he was 8 .he developed an early admiration for the art of ancient Greece ,Keats’s love of beauty has an ethical basis . Like the ancient Greece he believed in the close union of beauty and truth. WORK: ODE ON A GRECIAN URN: where he celebrates the beautiful scenes which adorn an ancient greek urn . the ode describes an ancient Greek urn decorated with classical motifs His ode is “BEAUTY IS TRUTH ,TRUTH BEAUTY” and for this he think that Beauty is sufficient as an ideal in itself,in this sense opposes RATIONALISM because he think that life is a gift that cannot be accounted for....
