(Dam & Siang, 2020) SCAMPER asks you 7 different questions that help you to innovate or to improve on existing products. (Dam & Siang, 2020) According to Hanks, SCAMPER can be used as a brainstorming tool to fix current problems and to also take advantage of any new opportunities that may arise. (Hanks, 2017) SCAMPER is said to have a number of advantages when used correctly. Although it encourages creativity and helps to generate new ideas (Hanks, 2017) it also has its limitations. Some limitations of SCAMPER are that this may only work in limited environments, which means that it is only effective to businesses that encourage free-form thinking. (Hanks, 2017) Another limitation of SCAMPER is that even though it creates a space for people to think collectively as a group, it may also cause that same group to argue and fight over minor details. This new creative way of thinking can bring about new solutions to problems that a business might face but can also create division among that group. (Hanks, 2017)
