2-2 Short Answer: Ethical Concerns Proposal 1: Racial Predisposition The ethical concern I would have is the opinions of others and those that conduct the study. Everyone is entitled to their beliefs although I would feel that the opinions of others might change people’s outlook on any race. People would be forced to think like those that are doing the research. The outcome of the research would not be valid due a specific one-sided belief. Regarding the violent crime activity, each crime will be different according to location, not so much race. Some of the research might be inaccurate due to location and samples that are used for the study. False information can ruin a study if the actual research is not correct and information collected properly. That information can be collected by proper study of location, studying people’s backgrounds and their way of living.

Proposal 2: Electroshock Therapy Some of the ethical issue’s I would have with this would be the punishment on preteen and adolescents. There is no punishment that would correct wrong behavior. Behavior is not corrected with punishment. Correction can be achieved by communication with the teens. Punishment will only harm the teens by confusing their mind with thinking that punishment solves everything and also imagine the trauma it would cause the teens. Electroshock therapy is almost in humane and trauma induced. Preteens are just finding who they are and are establishing their beliefs with what life offers them. This type of therapy would traumatize them and tarnish their mind to think that there will always be harsh consequences for bad behavior.

Proposal 3: Health Problems, Diet, and Socioeconomic Status The ethical issue with this proposal would be the exposing of people’s socioeconomic status. This study can publish their information, as long as their names and any other personal information is kept anonymous. People have rights to keep their information confidential while research is being conducted. If this information is not kept confidential, there might be a chance that people are judged based on their way of living. The fact that there would be medical diagnosis and concerns revealed based off this study, there would have to be a fine line between research and being confidential....
