All the classes that are listed above require practicum/field hours. 

I anticipate the higher-level classes being most challenging because I know that the further along I get in classes they will become more challenging. What skills or resources will you need for this program of study and how will you acquire them?

I will need time management, organization, and most importantly, I will need to be able to access and use my computer. Being able to understand all apps and resources will be beneficial. I will acquire them through halo learn by using all the helpful resources like the calendar, announcements, and resources. I will also be using the library very often, and they help of the librarians. The Student Success Center will also be utilized often to help me with templates and formats. 

After exploring the resources on the COE page within the Student Success Center, which resources will be the most helpful to you?

Special Education Programs and Resources and Lesson Plan/ Unit Plan Templates are the two most important resources for me because it is something that that we will use regularly throughout the entire program. These tools and sources are going to be very beneficial in the long run because they will also help us in our future classrooms. Part 2: Spirituality 

How does President Brian Mueller talk about faith, learning, and work in the videos on One Foundation?

Brian Mueller talks about faith, learning, and work are all intertwined with each other. When one has good faith and believe in God then everything will work out for the best. It also talk about how faith also allow you to give back and do good things for the best. 

How do you plan to integrate your personal or spiritual growth into your academic journey?

I will integrate more prayers in my academic journey. Growing up, my grandmother had a prayer for everything that we did, and they were extremely helpful. I am someone who strongly believe in God, and also believe that prayers do great things as long as you allow it. I will also conduct more acts of kindness to those who need it, especially when I have the extra time to contribute and help. Part 3: Practicum/Field Experience Complete the following items based on information regarding Practicum/Field Experience under “Program and Course Resources” on the College of Education page in the Student Success Center. 

After watching “Overview of Practicum/Field Experience Requirements” for (Ground/Arizona students) or (Online/Non Arizona students),” provide three examples of practicum/field experience requirements. Three requirements that you will need for practicum/field experience is fingerprint clearance, complete the minimum hours required, and the clinic field experience verification form.

After reading the “Practicum/Field Experience Tip Sheet,” briefly describe how you would introduce yourself to a potential classroom teacher. © 2018. Grand Canyon University. All Rights Reserved.

When introducing myself to a potential classroom teacher, I will dress and speak with professionalism and clarity. I will make sure that I have all documents needed for me to start my hours. I will also tell the teacher why I am here, and my goal for this program. Making sure that I have on the proper attire, will be very key for my introduction. 

For one of the courses in your program listed in the “Practicum/Field Experience Fact Sheet,” provide details for a practicum/field experience that you find interesting and explain why.

SPD-560, Language development with mild to moderate disables, requires me to get 9 service hours. The fact sheet says that I must get hours in an inclusive class with students who have language disabilities. This is interesting to me because I love working with students who have trouble expressing themselves. I love finding ways to get students to open up and get comfortable with themselves and their peers. I think that I will be great at helping students better their language skills and find ways to find other helpful ways. 

After learning about the Participant Roles in the “Clinical Field Experience Handbook - Initial Licensure Programs,” select two participants and describe how you might utilize each to successfully complete your practicum/field experience requirements.

My field experience counselor is one person that I know I am going to utilize often because this is someone that I will be coming to whenever I have questions about my hours. If I have trouble filling out forms to submit my hours, this is person that I will look for to successfully help me complete my paperwork. Classroom teacher will also be someone who I will talk to often because they are in an actual classroom, and they will be able to answer questions that I might have about current issues. The classroom teacher will be able to give advice and tips on how I can be successful when it comes to my own classroom. All participants are important and will help with my success in practicum and the online class.
