Description

Speech presentation Paris Paris, or City of Lights, the city of lovers, is the capital of France, it has a history dating back 5,000 BC with the first village of hunters settled on the island of the City, the largest island from Paris, located in the middle of the Seine. Paris is not called Paris at the time but Lutèce, it is only 3rd century BC that a Gallic people called the "Parisii" settled on the territory. Then the city is gradually called "The City of Parisii", then Paris definitively from the 5th century AD. In the 18th century, Paris is illuminated by the century of lights. This is a very important time in the history of Paris and that of France during which speech is released, and where very important philosophers appear such as Voltaire, Montesquieu or Diderot with his very popular work 'Encyclopaedia'. In addition, July 14, 1789, the French revolution breaks out. Throughout its history, Paris has been built some famous monument such as the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, not De La Garde but De Paris, the Louvre, the most visited museum in the world, the Arc de Triomphe or the Bastille.

Transport to come to Paris: Paris is served by 3 international airports totalling more than 90.6 million passengers a year. Located 25 km from Paris, Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport is one of the most important airport hubs in Europe. It is also the tenth world airport in 2016 The leading French airport in terms of traffic, Charles de Gaulle carries around 60 million passengers a year to more than 300 destinations worldwide. It is established in an area of 3,257 hectares. Paris is also accessible by train. Indeed, the city has 7 different stations serving the whole of France. The most important of them remains the Gare du Nord, with about 200million travellers a year, 700,000 travellers enter and leave the North station per day.

The capital is also extremely well served by the motorway networks that surround it. The Regional Express Network was built in 1977 and can move within Paris but especially in the suburbs of the Ile-de-France. The RER network alone accounts for 2.7M of passengers per day Built in 1992 the Tramway consists of 7 lines, 148 stations forming a network of 82km. On average, it carries 84.8M passengers per year. Basilica of the Sacred Heart and the Place du Tertre and makes it possible to avoid these 237 steps. 2M of average travellers use it each year.

The easiest way to get around Paris is still walking. On the roads: The Parisian-boat who want to sail on the waters of Paris and enjoy a unique view of the Parisian monuments. The Batobus which serve 9 stations to establish strategic tourist points of Paris. Around 800,000 travellers a year. The river boat that allow an unprecedented visit to the city on the Seine. With a view of historical monuments.

The travellers love Paris for many things, it's the city of love, it contains world-famous monuments, it's the city of lights, not because it shines a thousand lights at night but because in 18th century, a police officer had the idea of implanting street lamps so that the streets are lit up at night and deter criminals. Virtually all museums in Paris are free for students and under 25s, so if you want to visit museums it will be free for you thanks to the first option. Some monuments are also unavoidable such as the 324m Eiffel Tower built in the 19th with 1710 steps from the ground to the top, the triumphal arch, Notre-Dame-de-Paris, the SacréCoeur or the pantheon which is a necropolis of great characters of the Republic - including Victor Hugo, Marie Curie and Alexandre Dumas. With more than 12M visitors per year, Disneyland Paris is the largest park in Europe. Coming to Paris is not only for these monuments, Disneyland Paris offers 7 hotels and 5800 rooms. It is a much-needed infrastructure and often visitors only go to Paris for that. Disneyland Paris is the first tourist destination in Europe with more than 320M visitors since its creation in 1992. The park is very easily accessible by train since it is located 2 minutes’ walk from the Marne-la-Vallée train station, the highway is also very close to it so it can be reached by car or plane then bus. Shuttles make the trip all day between the airport and the park. But it's not the only attraction, indeed, the Asterix Park, built in 1989, has about 2M visitors every year.
