Review of the Previous Module 1. What are the similarities and difference of media, information and technology literacy? Answer: The similarities these three literacy have is that they are both medium and information giving on their own ways. These three both aims to promote new way of spreading knowledge while improving the means of communication. The only difference is how they focus on doing it. On media literacy, it give us the ability send, create, and share information but we often use the media as medium of communication. On information literacy, it help us to know when and where to find the information and how to use it. And on technology literacy, it educate us how use basic tools with technology and learn to utilize and use appropriate technology. 2. What do you think the importance of this lesson? Answer: The importance of this lesson is to help the learners how to be a responsible user of the mass media. It helps to identify the do's and don’ts and giving an idea what should be considered first when using the media. It also gives the learners an overview to media and information literacy and the cyber world.

Analysis

This lesson will serves as a guide on how to be wise and responsible user of media. It has tips on what should consider and what to be aware of when using the media. This is an important lesson especially to new users so that they do not fall prey. Because the internet is full of scammers, hackers, dummy accounts, and more you could think of. It has also rules, laws, and full of wonder.

Abstraction Responsible use of Media Information

1. Be mindful of emotions

Examples

• Be considerate to what you post online. Make sure what impact you could bring to the readers when expressing your thoughts and opinions. • Media is not a place where you can draw out your emotions, don’t expect that you can grab everybody’s attention.

2. Don’t be glued to your smartphone

• Make a schedule to when you can only use your smartphone to limit your time and avoid overuse. • Focus first to your priorities in life rather than spending time into the virtual world.

3. Don’t plagiarize

• Make sure when searching articles, don’t take the whole information, just grab a piece of idea. • Make sure to also not forget giving credits to the author by citing your reference of idea.

4. Don’t trust just verify

• Don’t get easily convince to what you read online. Make sure the validity of information. • Be trust a person you meet online.

5. Avoid accidentally sharing personal details

• Everyone on internet could access your account, so avoid sharing personal information. • It is better to keep things private.

• To access a website or community, one must accept it’s rule and regulations 6. Know the Rules • Follow community guidelines to be a good and responsible netizen.

Application

What I’m trying to imply on the picture is that, we must remember what the media and internet was for. It was supposed to help us connect with each other, help bring and share information, bring entertainment etc.. But instead, people are taking granted of media and internet’s benefits. With this collage, it might help them have an idea on what to consider when using media and internet. It may be few but those are the least tips users should consider.
