Chi/Qi Assignment Feeling the Flow of Chi

1. How do you feel after doing the video? After watching the video and doing the exercise, I feel slightly sore at the same time a calm sense throughout my body. My abdomen muscles seem to have gotten a workout as I feel either slight pain or stress near the abdomen area which indicate that they have been not used in years and that the exercise was working. 2. Which video did you choose? (Give the title listed here or include the one in the module that I didn’t put on the assignment.) After watching all four videos inserted in the Chi/Qi assignment page, I choose the very first video titled “Tai Chi with Helen Liang – An Introduction”. 3. What did you enjoy in doing the practice? Make sure you let me know if it is Qi Gong or Tai Chi. Tai Chi is a lot like martial arts except it is in slow, choreographed motions. Since I had taken karate lessons when I was young, Tai Chi looked and felted a lot familiar then Qi Gong. Motions showed in the video were simple to understand and follow. While doing the practice, it felted as though every single part of the body was been utilized and that I was not just standing in one place. 4. Did you feel a flow of energy as you practiced the video? I did not feel a flow of energy as I practiced the video. Couple reasons for that could have been because I might have been doing it incorrectly even after following the video or because I had done it for the first time ever. I did feel a sense of calm while doing the exercise as well as after finishing it. 5. How is your practice (Qi Gong or Tai Chi) similar to other exercise routines you have done? How does it differ? My regular practice is nothing similar to either Tai Chi or Qi Gong. My regular exercise routine involves running which is an effective form of cardiovascular exercise and lifting weights for strength training. Both of the above exercises are fast paced compared to Tai Chi which is slow paced. Neither of my regular routines encourages Chi to flow. Both running and lifting weights increases the heart rate while Tai Chi reduces it. 6. Do you think you will try to practice (Qi Gong or Tai Chi) again? Why or why not?

I will most definitely try and encompass Tai Chi into my regular exercise routine. I might perform my regular exercise/workout routine in the morning so as to boost my energy for throughout the day while try and perform Tai Chi in the evening to calm my body down have a long and stressful day....
