Suzanne Collins' Hunger Games Mockingjay is a stunning and fiery masterpiece. This is because all of its literary elements are carefully considered by the author. The names given to each character of the novel are intertwined with their unique characteristics; the plot is different from the usual ones which makes the novel hit the masses; the point of view is from Katniss’, the protagonist who also serves as the narrator; the setting is unique and easy to remember because of its common place names; symbols in the novel such as mockingjay plays a vital role because it has been the reason for many events that have taken place and; hope and resilience which are the themes of the novel bring us a message that can be applied in real life. All of these have made an impact which took the heart of every reader. The Hunger game series, and "Mockingjay " in particular cover a number of ethical issues that we all can understand- loyalty to family, remaining true core values and knowing the difference between freedom and safety. Hunger games: Mockingjay was much sadder in parts were we can reflect ourselves into personal history and experiences. The readers’ plunges into action and brutality of the novel with experiences and violence revolve around the story. The main character, Katniss Everdeen, having survived her first Hunger Games and been plucked out of the Quarter Quell by the rebels living in District 13, is now required to become the symbol of the rebellion, the Mockingjay. In the thrilling finale, Katniss comments on the following issues: the power of the media and the people who control it; how circumstances can turn gentle people into warriors; how power corrupts; the futility of war; and how those who develop weapons have no control over how they will be used. Collins gives the reader believable characters and an electrifying plot with plenty of twists. This may not be capital literature, but it is nonetheless a gripping and thought-provoking read. The novel is quit thrilling and suspenseful that could catch up the reader’s attention. The author tends us to reflect and understand the life of the main character; how Katniss Everdeen overcome her fears and worries seeking for freedom against the government.

The point of view of the author focused in the main character, 17 year old Katniss Everdeen. With her point of view we can easily understand why the author used a young girl in describing her personal experiences in seeking freedom. The novel is told in the primary individual and relates the storyteller's very own set of experiences and encounters. The storyteller is for the most part unbiased, however, every so often she will envision what different characters should feel.

What advantage does the author gain by using his view point?

The embodiment of hope is the Mockingjay - a creature that has managed to adapt and survive despite human efforts to eradicate it. The advantage that Suzzane Collins gain by using her viewpoint is that she could relate it to her experience before; through that book she could express herself that every reader should learn and made a reflection from it. It puts the reader into a point of view that is close to the action of the story as we can get; with a first person narrator, there is no sense of removal or detachment from the story.

It because it gives us an illusion that all the mentioned places in this novel is somewhat real. The author has created a dystopian world in which teenagers are made to forcefully fight for entertainment purposes. With this, it made every detail of the novel to be more interesting and exciting since it also gives a vibe of suspense. Additionally, the influence that the setting has toward the characters is to fight for the truth, freedom, and equality. In the novel, the characters are preparing to win the war against President Snow and the tyrannical Capitol. They wanted to redeem the peace and hope of living in unity from the hands of those who are running the Capitol in abuse. Meanwhile, the character’s actions are believable, given the setting and situations in the novel. This is because there are actions executed by the characters which might also appear in reality. Furthermore, the characters actions and motivations have hugely affected and contributed to the novel’s theme since everything they do reflects heroism, hope, and bravery. Katniss’ actions is an example of this. She did everything in order to stop those with authority in abusing their power over the poor people. In regard to this, the simple action made by the protagonist has affected the theme of the story....
