The Ultimate Gift

Christel G. Cortez BSAIS- 3B

Summary Red Stevens, the owner of the Red Estate and a millionaire, had left everything in the name of his grandson Jason Stevens but did not want to hand it all to him simply. This grandson despised him since he believed it was because of him that Jason's father died, which was not the truth. Jason grew up getting his way. He had a lavish lifestyle till Red died. At first, he was just interested in whatever he could gain if he did what was written in Red's will. So, even and that he had his reservations, he attempted it, the pursuit of the ultimate gift, which he felt was a physical or material item. So he was initially dispatched to Texas, to Gus, Red's acquaintance, and stayed for a month just to create postings on the ranch. He learned the talent of work there. He practically had nothing on him. He was even sent back anticipating the "present," but he received

nothing. As predicted, he was irritated and even assumed his grandfather was teasing him. But he persisted and had to seek for a true buddy, where he discovered that Caitlin, his long-term affair, is not a true friend. But he met Emily at the park where he was staying because he had nowhere to stay and no money to purchase meals. That's not easy, but he has been able to introduce Emily to Mr. Hamilton, Red's lawyer and friend. He formed a genuine connection with her and her mother, Alexia. Emily had leukemia, which made him more compassionate; when Mr. Hamilton offered him 1600 dollars, he donated it all to compensate for Alexia's financial troubles at the bank. Jason has evolved slightly throughout time. He and Alexia began to develop affections for one other, thanks to Emily's support and pushing through the sparks between the two. As he goes on the trip that his grandpa has planned for him, this self-centered young man learns to open his heart to others. He benefits from the talents of learning and problem solving, but the gift of family is the most amazing to him. This necessitates a journey to Ecuador, where his father died mysteriously. Jason and the guide are abducted and kept hostage for many weeks by extremists, until Jason manages to escape and returns to America. After completing his twelve duties, Jason is given a sum of $100 million to spend as he sees fit, as well as all of his property. Jason plans to use his fortune to create Emily's Home, a hospital for terminally ill patients, but Emily dies before building can begin. Jason is called up to the law firm for a final conversation shortly after the game changing for Emily's Home, where he is notified that he has easily surpassed his late grandfather's standards, and he is given a final gift of $2 billion, beneficial Jason not only for accomplishing the assignment, as well as for using the $100 million to help others.

Characters Red Stevens 

He is Jason's grandfather and a highly wealthy and accomplished man. Before he died, he taped himself, which he dedicated to Jason. He has put up a series of tasks for Jason, and each assignment comes with a valuable lesson. Mr. Red showed me that there is still possibility for someone to change; they just need assistance to do so. I like how he expresses his love for Jason by transforming his life via his work and making him realize extremely essential things in life

Jason Stevens 

He is a self-centered person who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. His grandfather assigns him a duty that he must fulfill in order to receive his fortune. There are many things to be learned throughout his path that I can connect to. It made me understand how essential it is to be appreciative for even the simplest of things. I learnt that we must constantly put in additional effort and hard work in order to obtain what we want and desire because that is the truth of life. His character also encourages us to be charitable to one another, saying, "It's better to give than to receive." Finally, we should be grateful to and appreciate our families.

Attorney Hamilton 

He is Red Stevens' best buddy, a lawyer who was the only one Red trusted to carry out his intentions, or should I say, Red's final will and testament, which is largely on the recorded video shot before he died. He did all that was said/written. There are still individuals who are trustworthy, loyal, and happy to have him as a

friend. His knowledge of the law may have made him appear so legalistic, but it was implied in the tale that he cared about Jason and that he was more than just an attorney, but also functioned as Jason's grandfather, which was implied. Mr. Hamilton, as Jason mentioned, sounds very similar to Red, his grandpa. Emily 

Emily is a vibrant and bright young girl battling leukemia who has become Jason's only genuine friend. Jason suggested a project named after her, but she died before construction could commence. I was impressed by her character since she is such a cheerful young lady, and the lesson I learned from her is that we should live our full human potential because we never know whenever God will take our lives away. Also, let us be grateful to our parents because they love us and would go to any length to provide us with the life we deserve. I also learnt from her that we should always be brave and grateful in the face of adversity.

Alexia 

Emily's mother's name is Alexia. She met Jason at the park and asked if they might be his buddies for a time. Alexia and her daughter Emily decided to assist Jason. The lesson I learned from her was that we should love everyone unconditionally. We should love someone for who they are, not for their money. One thing I learned from her so as a parent, they constantly offer just too much love and selflessness to their child.

Ms. Hastings 

She is Mr. Red Steven's secretary, and she also guides Jason through the tasks assigned to him by his grandpa. The learning I took from her, like Mr. Red and Mr. Hamilton, is that we all should know how to believe someone that there really is still hope for any of them to change, and I absolutely adore her optimism in Jason that he will complete the task and realize what the "ultimate gift" that his grandfather would want him to realize along the way.

He is an old rancher buddy of Mr. Red Stevens. Jason is forced to assist Gus on his ranch with some work despite the fact that he has never worked before. What I admire about his role in the film is that he never loses up on Jason, even if he had a difficult time coping with Jason at first. He let him do the task, and he wouldn't let Jason leave Texas until he had done what he needed to accomplish and had learned the value of effort and hard work. I loved how he respects Jason and ensures that he can always rely on him.

She is Jason's ex-gold-digger girlfriend. When Jason's credit card gets denied during their date at a posh restaurant, she abandons him. She attempts to woo Jason back after learning that he has regained his riches, but she fails. I believe the moral lesson from her character is that you should love someone for what they have and who they are rather than what they get and who they are. Money cannot be the foundation of a relationships.

Personal Reflection Jason Stevens is the multibillionaire Red Stevens' grandson. Following Red's passing, his descendants are impatient to get their inherited wealth. Jason Stevens is from a wealthy family, yet he suffers from a number of ailments. He must first complete a variety of monthly tasks...
