Description

Content questions: What is the difference between chronological modalism and functional modalism? Explain them? The theory of modalism breaks down into those who understand the occurrences of these persons chronologically versus functionally, the former assuming that God has transitioned from Father to Son then to Spirit at different points in history while the latter assumes that God presently assumes each of the roles as different modes of Himself. What ideas does the notion of perichoresis hold and who used those ideas in formulating their own theory? Moltmann’ s popularized theory of perichoresis states that the individuality of each person in the Trinity coexists with the shared community of all three, with each living in one another and sharing in eternal love and empathy.

Discussion Question: Do you think that analogies could help someone understand Christianity if they knew nothing about it? Yes, because I think that for people to fully comprehend a concept, especially one in which the being at hand are unseen, they need a point of reference or comparison. Just as kids are taught to do math using fruit or other objects and poets use metaphors to paint a mental picture, learning about Christianity is understood in the same way (in my opinion).

Do you believe that the Trinity is just one God in different forms and locations? I think that the Trinity does exist in one God in different forms and for different purposes, but not different locations. God is omnipresent and omnipotent through the Holy Spirit, in my opinion. I think that Olivia Stapleton had the best post this week because she did not hesitate to really flesh out her ideas and put the information provided into her own words....
