1. Unit 1: Major Writing Assignment 1 - Learning by Accident I honestly don't remember the exact day it happened, I just remember it was a morning like any other. In a small town called Devon , an hour and a half from Manchester , the capital of Mandeville . My home was a country house, where we raised animals and harvested our own food. That morning my mom and I were in our rustic kitchen, I sat at the table waiting for my mom to start preparing my breakfast. Breakfast for the day was coffee with milk, toast with butter, and two fried eggs from our chicken farm. Up to this point, I was always used to my mother doing everything to me, from food, washing my clothes, making my bed, well, as they say, I was a mama’s girl. The only thing that I knew how to do was heat the water and I was so bad for the kitchen that my water would burn. You may ask, how do you burn the water? And my answer would be, exactly! 2. Unit 3: Major Writing Assignment 3 - The amazing world of Soccer Personally, I started playing soccer from the time I started walking since it is the game that is played the most in Jamaica . Ever since I remember, I’ve watched my dad and grandfather screaming with joy and sadness for every game they watched on TV, and the more I grew up I will try to copy the tricks that I watched in every game. I also played soccer with friends at every recess of the school, and when we couldn't find a ball, we would make it out of paper and tape. In every city I have moved I always look where people play soccer, I had the opportunity to play for the team of all my schools, and to this day I play soccer in a local tournament for adults over 20 years old. It's a sport that I carry in my veins, and that the passion I have for my team doesn't compare to anything in this world. I started playing soccer from the time I started walking Since it is the national sport of Jamaica and all the majority of children grow up playing this beautiful sport. For as long as I can remember, I watched my grandfather and dad celebrate with great emotion every game that they watched on television. I also remember how I wanted to imitate the plays that the players made in the games. When I was very young, I remember playing with my friends at school recess, and many times we didn't have a ball to play with, so we improvised and built a paper ball out of tape. Every time I had to move

home, I always had to look for groups where they would play soccer, and thank God I had the opportunity to find people who played this sport. I also had the blessing of belonging to several soccer teams, and being able to play in every school I attended. At the moment, I belong to an over 20-28 years old team, where we meet every Sunday and play a tournament that lasts for a couple of months. Soccer is a sport I was born with, grew up in, and what could I say I carried it in my veins. This passion is like nothing in this world.

3. Reflection on what I learned from this exercise This work seemed very interesting to me since I could say that I learned a lot by rereading my work and finding that I could play with the way my essay was. I was surprised to see how much my paragraphs changed when I read it several times. What seemed a little difficult to me was like at the beginning of this work, there was no point in changing my sentences, I thought about changing a couple of words and leaving it like that. But the more I read my work, the more I found that I had a world of possibilities to make my paragraphs better than they were....
