journal entry...

Description

Journal Entry #9 In this journal entry, you’ll identify your desired outcomes and experiences for this course and/or this semester. Developing clarity on what you want to create this semester will help you stay motivated and on course until the end. Use the student examples earlier in this section as models, but of course record your own desired outcomes, experiences, and reasons. 1. In your journal, create an empty table like Table 3.1. Fill in three or more of your own for this course and/or this semester. Desired Outcomes ● Get my AA by fall of 2023

Values Having a degree will increase my chances of becoming a biologist and become a teacher and teach other people

Get a 3.0 in my fall 2020 and spring 2021 semester

Having a high gpa like a 3.0 or a 4.0 will rule out my bad grades that I had received from previous semesters.

In all my classes, I want to learn and get as much information I can.

Having knowledge is power and a major confident boost.

2. In your journal, create an empty table like Table 3.2. Fill in three or more of your desired experiences for this course and/or this semester. Desired Experiences ● Confidence

Values Having more confidence in myself will help me build better relationships and become more confident when I become a biologist.

Participation

I look away when teachers have us participate in discussion but I want to be able to engage in the discussions and give my personal opinion without feeling like I am wrong or people will disagree.

Enjoy learning

I want to come to my classes ready to soak up what is taught and appreciate the courses I am taking.

3. Now, using the formula of V x E = M, write in the box below about your level of motivation to be successful in college. Begin as follows: "The value I place on

being a success in college is ___ [0–10] and my expectation of being a success in college is ___ [0–10]. Multiplied together, this gives me an achievement motivation score of ___ [0–100]." Then continue by explaining your score and identifying specific actions you can do to raise it (or keep it high). The value I place on being a success in college is 10 and my expectation of being a success in college is 8. Multiplied together, this gives me an achievement motivation score of 80. My score is pretty high now that I am older and have a mature mindset.I will continue to focus on my future in becoming a biologist and not let anything get in my way or distract me.

want to live in a better neighborhood and not have to worry about my families safety because we can’t afford a better living. My motivation level will continue to get higher and higher no matter what....
