Topic 1 Navigating Loud Cloud Part 1: Navigating the Loud Cloud LMS and GCU Website Directions: Complete each of the 13 questions below. Provide your answers in one to two sentences, or short answer format. (The spacing can be manipulated if you require more room for your responses. Please DO NOT forget to SAVE once you begin to answer the questions, so you do not lose any information.) Questions 1 -10 are directed towards the Loud Cloud LMS: 1. Click on the DASHBOARD tab in the Loud Cloud classroom. Describe the following tabs (table will expand as needed): Path Planner Student Resources Gradebook Connect Messages Preferences

The path shows a full view of all the topics we will go through over the semester. Each expand into the study materials and Tasks. The planner shows the calendar and all assignments for all classes. The student resources pull down into the library, student success center, classroom policies, learning support, and technical support. The gradebook shows where we can see our grade and missing and/ completed assignments and what we scored on them. The connect pulls down into the forums, class wall, and roster. Messages shows all our notifications and announcements. In preferences I can change what will be my preset class to open to after logging in, what happens when I click path, and what I get taken to when I switch class tabs.

From the Course Home page in Loud Cloud, explain the steps to find MY GRADES.For finding my grades I click the tab under the logo, then go down to grade book, and grades will be shown in the top right of the page under the bell and megaphone. 3. Under the DASHBOARD tab in LoudCloud, click on the STUDENT RESOURCES link and locate the STUDENT SUCCESS CENTER. Search for THE WRITING CENTER. From there click on STYLE GUIDES AND TEMPLATES and review the APA 7th Edition Style Guide and Template. (You may want to right click and save the guide and template to

your computer for future reference). After reading the Style Guide, why do you think academic writing requires such strict formatting? The school requires such a strict format because they want us to be producing professional and beautiful papers. 4. Inside the Student Success Center, type “New Student Success” in the search bar and visit the page to explore the resources. List three tutorials or webinars that will help you most as you begin this course. For each, explain how you feel they will help. the study skills will help me ensure I get the best grade possible, the time management will help me make sure I have time for homework and studying, the effective note taking will help me have good study material. 5. From the Course Home page in Loud Cloud, click on the DASHBOARD tab and then click on CONNECT link and then FORUMS. Locate (at the top of the page) and explain the purpose of the Discussion Question Forum, Private Forum, and Questions to Instructor Forum. the discussion questions are like the homework DQ’s we have, private forum allows me to privately ask a question to the professor, and the questions to instructor will be seen by the whole class. 6. Click on the DASHBOARD tab in the Loud Cloud classroom and select PATH. List the three headings across the top of the page and list their content. Path: has all the topics for the semester, Content: has al our electronic resources, and Objectives: is designed to provide students opportunities to develop and strengthen skills. 7. Go to the DASHBOARD tab and click on STUDENT RESOURCES and then LIBRARY. Under About Us click on the Contact Us link. Describe two ways to get help using the Library’s resources. By filing out the document to ask a question or calling the toll free number. 8. Use the DASHBOARD tab, click on CONNECT, and then ROSTER. Review your instructor’s profile, provide his/her contact information, including office hours. There are two different locations to review the ANNOUNCEMENTS. Locate and share the steps to find the Announcements through the Dashboard tab. In addition, where else on the homepage can you go directly to the Announcements (hint: it is an icon)? you can access announces in the top right and in the pull down tab under messages.

10. Once logged into the LoudCloud classroom, within the DASHBOARD, locate the GCU TECHNICAL SUPPORT tab. 11. On the Home page, click on Degree Programs, locate and click your area of interest, choose your Bachelor Program, click on Go To Program. Locate your Program Core Courses and list one course that looks most interesting to you. Why did you choose this course? Include the course name, course number and course description along with your explanation. I chose economics for business decisions, I was most interested in this because I want to start my own business. DBA-818. This course provides the student with the skills and competencies needed to be able to apply microeconomic principles to the solution of business problems. Specifically, the course examines the four market structures focusing on competition and utilizes microeconomic theory to provide solutions to business problems. Describe which sections of this page interest you. Why? To be honest, none of the sections peak my interest. On the Student Success Center website, search for the Writing Center and visit the page. Review the resources and services in the section Research & Writing Help. What resource do you think will be the most helpful for you in the research and writing process? The grammar skills development will be most helpful because English and writing has never been my strongsuit....
