GCU is committed to integrating faith across all aspects of the GCU community, which stems from GCU’s mission to educate students from a Christian perspective and to prepare them for careers that honor God while serving others. Read through GCUs “One Foundation” and watch the three videos of President Brian Mueller and Dean Jason Hiles, “Integration of Faith, Learning, and Work,” “Ethical Positions Statement,” and “Doctrinal Statement Introduction,” located at http://www.gcu.edu/about-gcu/christian-identity-andheritage.php What did you takeaway from these videos that you can apply to your experience while at GCU? (50-100 words) What does service outside of the classroom mean to you and how can you apply service while at GCU? (50-100 words)

The university’s initiative to integrate faith stems from its mission to educate students from a distinctively Christian perspective and prepare them for careers marked by kindness, service, and Integrity. In addition to helping students find their purpose, the University endeavors to carry out its mission in ways that are marked by compassion justice and concern for the common good.

Community service means a lot to me because I enjoy helping others and it bothers me to see people struggle. Ever since I was young I always helped people when they needed it. When I was in Tuscon I used to participate in the school turkey drive and used to deliver food to people’s homes so that they can have food to eat on Thanksgiving.

Register for the expo you take in Career Connections to begin 2. fill out my profile preparing for your career goals? 3. look at my freshman checklist

Consider whether or not a minor would be helpful to your major to supplement your knowledge and skills. What would it make sense for you to add a minor? Why or why not?

I think that it could so that I can have a broader view of my major, however, I would be overwhelmed and to stressed to take extra classes. It would be better as a psychology/counseling major. I just do not believe that that is in my cards right not and I can handle the pressure.
