Received information on attempted robbery - 1:10pm 30th March 2020. Police were called to a renovation Site in Woolwich after noise complaints were made by neighbours. The primary officer noticed widespread damage on the building in what looked like an attempt to remove the copper wiring from the site. Several footwear impressions were noted at the possible entry point besides the pipe and wire lines. Two sets of shoe marks were discovered near the safety fence inside the property – they were collected for casting. A POI was arrested after video evidence was provided to the police a week later. Police submitted a single boot (the other could not be located) including the impressions to be analysed. Two propositions were made to help the investigation: Hp - the POI’s shoes are the source of the shoe marks. Hd - the impressions were made by someone else’s shoes.
