I was born in California but raised in Oklahoma, but I’ve been living in the Colorful state of Colorado for the past 3 years by myself. Right after high school in Oklahoma, I went to Southeastern Oklahoma State University for a year for my basic, and I had no clue what to do after that so I left school till I could figure out what I wanted to do for a major. I didn’t want to stay in school waste money on pointless classes, because I was paying for school out of my pockets. So, I moved states away from family and friends to discover myself and I don’t regret it. I fell in love with Colorado, and I also fell in love with technology here. As a sophomore in college and doing my first year of college online, it’s cheaper and COVID. I’ve learned that in online classes you don’t really meet new people like you do in class. None of the other students contact you for help or want to talk to you about school or assignments, a lot of the students in online school just want to get their work done and be done with school. In class, students want to make friends learn about each other, and find ways to connect with others in the class. Also, discussions were a lot better with classes being in person because everyone enjoyed putting their two cents in. Goals of mine are mostly personal life goals rather than education/career goals. My life goal is to be the best mother and wife I can be. I want to raise my future children better than how I was raised; I want to be there for my future children mentally and emotionally. When I grew up, I grew up by myself mostly and looked up to the boss I had at my first job, the neighbors that lived next to us that couldn’t have kids, and my aunt and Uncle. I want to be a good mother and wife and I’m pressuring this degree to have a good financial job to support my future family and my future self. Microsoft Teams is a great digital collaboration tool to use for work, school, and even with family and friends. I use it for work because I work for Microsoft currently, so Microsoft Teams is all we use. We use it for screen sharing, webinars, and video conferencing also it’s easier to collaborate with your fellow team members on projects and any issues with instant messaging. Digital proficiency helps you in everyday activities like navigating the operating system of your computer or using your smartphone to get a pizza delivered to your door. Being efficient in digital proficiency allows you to be more productive and innovate in many ways.
