Description

"Why you shouldn't drink and drive?" The answer as to why you shouldn’t drink, and drive seems apparent. However, it isn’t so apparent that the thought of doing so didn’t run through the minds of the thousands that died this year, and in the past by doing so. The risks of drinking and driving vastly outweigh the benefits. Everyday that we wake up is one to be celebrated, because of the many uncertainties of life, waking up is one of them. If we have the privilege of waking up, we then have a responsibility to ourselves to conduct the day in such a way that, we can wake up and celebrate again tomorrow. When one drinks and drives, they are relinquishing the little bit of say we have in whether we wake up again the next day. Drinking and driving should not be engaged in because it raises then chances of not living to see another day to higher than what was predestined for us. Does a blurry ride home sound more appealing than living to create the crystalclear memories we can form by living to see another day? This is the question that is imperative to ask in part to why you shouldn’t drink and drive. Drinking and driving does not only hold the potential of lessening your chances of experiencing a new day, but also the chances of other individuals on the road. If you can get past the numerous risks that come with driving while drunk, it is then time to consider whether you have the heart to put others in danger as well. Ask yourself, on a day when you are sober, do I want to take away someone else’s chance at a new day? Someone I’ve never met before, someone who could be on the way home to their expected children, to their expecting spouse, to their expecting pet. Does simply catching an Uber or a ride home from a friend present a more strenuous task than being made to answer to many lives you can potentially hinder while driving drunk? Whenever I frequent a party I don’t drink because I am aware that I need to drive home. Asking myself these questions keeps me focused on living to see tomorrow....
