ABSTRACT The research topic aims to determine the different factors why working scholars suffer from a low academic performance to be able to come up with the solutions from the given insights of the respected key informants of this study. The researchers chose the working scholars to be the key informants of the research topic. These key informants were also experienced of suffering from a low academic performance and also gained fail grades but be able to surpass the challenge and be able to regain their academic performance to excel well. This is to effectively disseminate the main objective of the study to those students who work and study at the same time. The main objective of the study is to motivate those working scholars, who suffer from their academic matter, to be positive enough in taking up challenges in life without risking the work and academic area. Through Focus Group Discussion among respondents by asking questions, the researchers had found out that many factors had occurred to the lives of the working scholars that affected their academic performance which may lead to a working scholars lose their confidence to excel because they had been beaten by the challenges in life. In terms of handling their task in their designated area, working scholars usually find it hard because of the conflict of time and the demand of work. Peer to peer problem within designated area also occurred during the discussion. Time being conflict with the other matters may also lead to working scholars affect their academic performance. Conflict with their supervisors also affects them in terms of their academic performance. The aforementioned are just a summary of various kinds of problems being encountered by our working scholars that definitely dragged them down and took their academic and work area into risk. However, the key informants, who were also working scholars who got failed and had experienced of low academic performance but be able to surpass and pass the subject, have positive approach on how to deal with challenges without putting the work and academic related matters into risk. It is never easy for a student to work and study at the same time to be able to fulfill their "dreamed future". Working scholars are not only dealing with work and academic matters, that shaken their faith to survive, but also with so many factors which results for working scholars suffer from a low academic performance that loses their confident to excel more and even get worst to fail the subject....
