Description

Imer Mejia I am by the shore, playing with the sea nymphs. I am gifted a necklace made from beautiful shells from the reed below. In return, I give the nymphs crowns made of flowers from the forest. As I head onto the forest, I feel excited and calm. On my bare feet, I can feel the difference in touch of the sand and grass as well as smelling the salt being washed away. As I kept on smelling the leaves and dirt, I pick up another smell. A great smell. A smell that makes me drool and smile heavenly. As I follow the smell, I come across a bushel where there are beautiful flowers surrounded in a circle. As I walk towards the flowers they start to bloom more and more. All of a sudden, I feel something grab me and pull me away from my home and enter the Underworld. As I arrive at the gates of the Underworld, I meet up with Cerberus and Pluto. Pluto is bragging about his palace while showing me the pillars that mark between the living and the dead. Later on, Pluto starts to give me disrespect and tries to lay his hands on me. I try my best to defend myself by injuring him, making him spit out blood. Immediately, I make a run for it and leave the Underworld. As I reappear back into Earth, all of what I saw – the flowers, trees, grass, sand – were all dead and gone. As I pay attention to my breath I immediately remember about my mom. How long have I been gone? As I cry in devastation, Ceres hears me. I begin to notice and run toward her. I am happy as ever and everything that once was gone, began to bloom back in sight....
