According to Understanding and Developing Organisation Culture (2021), organization culture is derived from human nature, the business's relationship to the environment, appropriate emotions, and effectiveness. I have been lucky enough to volunteer with a number of NGOs which aim to provide and improve the quality of education in my own country as well as across Africa. This year I hope to work with an Organisation called Akili Dada a Swahili term that directly translates to mind sisters. It is an organization whose values are centered around empowering young girls and women in underserved communities here in Kenya. They recruit women who have similar principles: sisterhood, transformation, integrity, leadership, and excellence (Akili Dada - African. Women. Lead | Our Values, n.d). These values are a strength because they attract like-minded partners and volunteers while still educating the masses on the continued need for female empowerment. In addition to this, they teach young girls that they hold the key to their futures and that together we can go further if we are willing to put in the work ourselves without waiting for others to provide us with solutions A great example of their artifacts is their colorful offices which make the girls feel more comfortable in such a 'serious' environment as well as their mantra "we exist because girls and young women CAN lead!", (Akili Dada - African.
