1. Do you find the decision sound? I think Andres Bonifacio did the right thing by adopting Emilio Jacinto's teachings of the Katipunan. Andres Bonifacio had intended towards his Decalogue to be published and distributed to new recruits, but after reading Jacinto's Kartilya, he concluded that it was superior, despite his appreciation for Jacinto's writing style.

2. How are their perspectives different and alike? The Kartilya was written to introduce new members to the ideals and beliefs that should govern any member of the association, similar to the Decalogue. Inside the community, Bonifacio formed a close relationship with Emilio Jacinto, who served as his mentor, loyal friend, and Supreme Council member. The Kartilya's core teaching is to show sincere appreciation for one's native land and genuine sympathy for others, as all should be considered equally and as true brothers. The Dekalogo was only ten points deep and focused on one's responsibilities to God, country, family, neighbor, the Katipunan, and himself. It spoke of honor, generosity, and self-sacrifice, but it also cautioned of the consequences for traitors and disobedient. The Kartilya was more historical and metaphysical, and it was broader. Rather than providing straightforward prescriptions, it introduced the principle of moral life as lessons for self-reflection. It said that human supremacy is determined by internal rather than external factors. Instead of merely reproducing Karapatan ng Tao, Jacinto and Bonifacio modified and improved it in order to further embed it in Katipunan followers' minds and souls....
