By watching this clinical scenario, it enhanced my understanding by seeing how the nurse and the cna were interacting with the patient. The cna made many communication errors when she was in the patient’s room. Whenever you are with a patient, you should always use therapeutic communication to help them feel at ease and more comfortable. The patient would feel more comfortable if you let them decide on situations, or in the case of Mr. Emmerson, letting him decide when he wants to get up. Before walking into a patient’s room, it’s always a good idea to understand how your patient communicates before making any assumptions. The key to a successful nurse is having great communications skills and always listen....
