BAD NEWS MEMO
Name: UFV ID No:
To: Mr. Mike Gibson, HR Manager
From: Mr. George Tuker, General Manager Subject: Date: November 2, 2017 I want to take a moment to thank you for your support as I transition into my new role as General Manager. Your support and leadership going forward will be imperative as we grow our business. As you are aware, the worldwide slowdown in demand has had a negative impact on the sales of our company. So the board of directors has made a decision to shut down one out of the manufacturing plants of the company which will obviously lead to many people losing their jobs. I want you to make a VRS plan for the company in order to best assist our employees affected by this reduction. I regret that this is one of my first actions since being asked to lead this company after the departure of our former manager; however, I fully believe that this decision will allow our business to be more competitive in our industry and allow for greater growth into our future. I ask for your continued support as we move through this difficult time. Any issues can be brought up to my assistant. ....
