Description

Ashton Ansel Ms. Jordan Lovejoy English 1110.02 10-12-16 Annotated Bibliography Brady, Margaret K. “Some Kind of Power: Navajo Children's Skinwalker Narratives .” Salt Lake  City: U of Utah, 1984. Print. This source comes from The University of Utah and is written by Margaret K. Brady. The source is credible for the fact on pages 211 to 220 is strictly a bibliography of where Margaret found all her information. It proves she has intensely done research and has scanned many different forms of sources. This source strictly informs the reader with the information over the Skinwalker folklore. Margaret does this by giving known information on skinwalker’s throughout the book, as well as giving first-hand accounts to give some credibility to the information she had collected. This source well benefits my overall argument by giving the historical context based on the skinwalker. It will benefit the credibility of my paper and give the reader background not known before. Hampton, Carol M. “The Western Historical Quarterly” 17.3 (1986): 366-67. Web.  This source is written by Carol M. Hampton and comes from Oxford University. This source shows the credibility based on the fact it is a peer-reviewed article based on another source. The source that Carol Hampton reviews is a book called “Some Kind of Power: Navajo Children's Skinwalker Narratives.” by Margaret Brady. Carol Hampton goes through her explanation of the book and describes her own opinion. Carol Hampton goes through her review talking, not from a support or non-supporting side. She focuses on the main point of the article and gives reasons the book was credible, then reasons the book was not credible. With this review, it will help bring forth both side of the book, which in the end will give the book even more credibility. This review will accomplish giving another opinion other than my own on the book by Margaret.

 Navajo Legends. "Navajo Skinwalker Legend | The Witchery Way." Navajo Legends . N.p., 2016. Web. 12 Oct. 2016. The author of this source is not known, but the providers are called Navajo Legends. This source is a credible background on what is a skinwalker? The source is credible for the fact it comes straight from the Navajo Folklore, as well as the fact that on the page it also has many other Navajo folklore dealing with their legends. Knowing that this source also has other legends proves that they have done extensive research on the Navajo tales to create this website. This source tells the tale of the mysterious being known as the skinwalker. It gives the reader information on how skinwalkers are created to walk as man and beast, as well as the evil deeds they must do. They also describe what skinwalkers will do to helpless victims. By the end the source it describes the way skinwalkers are able to be killed. This source will be able to give my research more background on the skinwalker legend. Hopefully answering the questions; What

are skinwalkers, How are they created, and How does one destroy a skinwalker? Being able to answer these questions will allow the reader to understand more over the creature, skinwalker. Reveron, Sean. "12 People Tell Their Terrifying Encounters With Navajo Skinwalkers -." CVLT Nation. N.p., 07 Oct. 2015. Web. 10 Oct. 2016. This source is by Sean Reveron from Venice Beach, California. This source shows credibility by the fact that even today after so many years of the skinwalker story being told, society still sees and fears the skinwalker. At the same time, this source is not credible for the fact that some of these stories could be lies, but that is where I come in. I plan to collect these stories and connect them to prove that some are credible sources of encounters. This source recounts twelve people and their encounters with the mysterious skinwalker. They go through describing their horrific event of the encounters they faced with this monster. Though how do we know the people are telling the truth. Is this based on facts, or hidden by fakes? Hopefully, this source will benefit my overall paper by giving credible stories of encounters. I plan to be able to connect each story to what we know about a skinwalker and go through proving which ones are based on the actual legend or is made up. Hopefully, by the end, we will have enough stories to back up my hypothesis that these skinwalkers could be living among us.

MCCUE, PETER A. "The 'Skinwalker Ranch': A Paranormal Hot Spot?." Journal Of The  Society For Psychical Research 79.921 (2015): 201-224. Academic Search Complete . Web. 12 Oct. 2016. This source is a Peer Reviewed article by Peter Mccue from the Journal of the Society for Psychical Research. The credibility is brought forth over the fact in this source he argues whether or not the Skinwalker Ranch is actually a paranormal hotspot. Peter also gives background information on this Ranch proving the credibility by the extensive research he has done. This source goes through telling the readers what the Skinwalker Ranch is as well as the paranormal activities that have taken place. The source also describes the historical background over the Ranch as in who owned it and how it has come to be. It then states his opinion on the truths and the fact that this may be paranormal events. This source will allow the readers to understand my primary source more since my primary source takes place in Skinwalker Ranch. Hopefully, this will allow the reader to be informed on the Skinwalker Ranch so they can understand the Skinwalker and the primary source on a more educated level....
