Book review of the book " I am that girl"....

Description

I Am That Girl Discover your passion and speak your truth. These words have followed me for a few months while reading the book "I Am That Girl". This book that inspires girls and encourages them to feel confident in their own skin is written by Alexis Jones. Alexis is a womens rights activist, inspirational speaker and the founder of the non-profit organisation "I Am That Girl". An organisation that helps women convert their self-doubt in to self-love by giving them the opportunity to have honest conversations about meaningful things with other women. Alexis' mission is to help girls all around the world discover their purpose and help them live the best possible life. The book begins with a beautifully and authentically written forward by the actress and activist, Sophia Bush. She also happens to be my role model because she always inspires me to work hard towards my dreams and helps me strive to make a difference in this world. Her wise words about how we girls should collaborate and not compete, made me realise that this book was one in a million. Alexis then continues by guiding the reader step by step how to discover their passion and find their purpose. She gives wise and honest advice while combining them with her own experiences of sucess and failure. After focusing on how to find your passion, Alexis moves on to how to find the strength and courage to use it. She encourages the reader to be bold, take a stand and trust your intuition. But also to dare to ask for help, be vulnerable and work hard. The thing I love about this book is that it inspires and motivates you in to becoming the best version of yourself. Not how to lose weight or how to put up a fassad of something your not. Just to find yourself. Alexis helps you discover your innerself and how to find the perfect balance between being bold and putting yourself first once in a while, and being compassionate and sympathetic. Although Alexis guides you and reminds that you are worthy, she stays very human. In fact she feels like your best friend because she gives you thoughtful advice while admitting her own flaws and weaknesses. She uses a well educated vocabulary but still uses an everyday language. Anyone can understand her message, but she usess language that allows you to improve your vocabulary. I think every girl should read this book, despite age or background. I also think that men would benefit by reading Alexis' wise words. 90 % of the book focuses on things that both men and women struggle with for example seeking for your passion and improving your self confidence and self esteem.

I think the whole world would be a better place if more people read this book and embraced the message "you are worthy and you are enough". These are words worth reading and I can guarantee you will not regret it....
