Brandi Good morning, Skaggs and class. Today, I have the honor to talk about someone who is quite extraordinary. So extraordinary that I have to tell you a little story. On February 21st 2001 a young lady and her mother went in for a pregnancy checkup. She was very far a long and wanted to make sure everything was fine with the baby. While waiting for the doctor her mother helped her do pushing exercises to prepare for the birth of daughter that was soon to come. Unfortunately it was sooner than they thought. In the middle of exercises they heard the sound of infant cries over the intercom. They cooed and smiled at the sound, knowing that it meant a baby had just been born. After a few minutes, the crying continued and her mother grew confused. It sounded closer somehow and…muffled. A gut feeling of realization jolted through the mom and she threw the blankets off her daughter to discover her teeny tiny newborn granddaughter. Now that the blankets didn’t muffle her tiny being she was surprisingly silent. The now grandmother quickly called in staff, screaming: “there’s a baby! There’s a baby in here!” They quickly got the baby warmed up, tested and in her mother’s arms within a couple hours and everything turned out alright. Quite a miracle wouldn’t you say? This super baby grew up to be an amazing, caring, and strong individual. Despite living in a toxic, abusive household with her father figure she always took care of her siblings and made things happen so she could have a successful future. That is why at age 16 she made the brave decision to move out and go to stay with her mom. At age 18 she made another life changing choice. She was going to college. Not only that but she was going to be the first female to attend college and graduate. She has proudly chosen Communication studies as her major in hopes of going into marketing. Her passion is to create bizarre and comical commercials for products just like the ones we’ve all seen on tv. And that’s why she is sitting this classroom today. Please join me in giving a warm welcome to this beautiful woman and my new friend-Brandi Moore....
