Group Speech 6-7 minutes Overview: This Group speech assignment will enable you to work more efficiently in a group environment. Please consider the audience and all demographics before developing a topic. The speech should not only engage the audience, but it should also provide your audience with adequate knowledge of the topic and may inspire the audience to conduct outside research independently, go out and perform an action, or to review his or her standpoint on the specific subject, policy, value, or fact. Will my audience be interested in my topic? Am I knowledgeable of my topic and if not, am I willing to learn new material? Is this topic important to me in any way? Will this topic help my audience?

Your speech should be 6-7 minutes and include 3-5 reliable sources (please do not use Wikipedia or other 3rd party resources. Examples of great resources include: news articles, websites, peer-reviewed articles, books, magazines…etc.). Additionally, the speech must include oral citations from one book, one website, and one peer-reviewed journal. You must have at least one visual aid; this may be a power point presentation, a handout, a physical item…etc. You are required to have one speaking outline for the group speech. Please bring 2 copies of your speaking outline; one will be used for convenience and one will be collected for credit.

You must include a bibliography for your sources which will be completed in MLA format.
