Alternative Courses of Action – must be based on the SWOT Analysis

ACA 1 – Marco Polo is famous for its elegant layout and flawless service, but some people tend to choose other hotels over Marco Polo because the hotel have a high class impression and giving a vibe that you need more money in order to avail their products and services. As an operational manager I will give a promo that will give more people opportunities to enjoy the hotel without reducing the service given. With these many people can enjoy the brand of Marco Polo which is classy and elegance. ACA 2 – Due to the rising popularity of tourism in Davao many competitors continue to emerge. In order to regain the footing of the hotel on its reopening, it is important to promote Marco Polo. Inviting famous personalities to promote the hotel is one of the easy ways to advertise the hotel. Creating commercial ads in television, newspaper, or magazines can also help the hotel to gain more costumers. ACA 3 – Even if the COVID – 19 will subside overtime it is important to be ready at all cost. In order to ensure that the Marco Polo is a safe hotel to shelter not only the costumer but also the employees, safety protocols like swab testing, physical testing, etc. will be continue to practice.

Analysis For the reopening of Marco Polo in 2023 all management teams to work hand in hand to ensure a safe and successful reopening. Establishing well planned action plan is the first thing to do, and once planed and develop the team need to implement it effectively. Buying safety utilities like Sanitation Machine, thermal scanner, alcohol, etc. is a must. The COVID – 19 may subside in 2023 but we need to accept and adjust to the normal. Ensuring the health of the guest and employees should be the number one priority. Creating sanitizing station and installing alcohol-based sanitizing area in front desk, near entrance and in public areas is important. Also, one of the important things in reopening the hotel is the promotion, investing to social medias like Facebook, twitter, YouTube, etc. can help the hotel to promote more. Traditional promotion like TV commercial, newspaper, magazines, and billboards is also a necessity in order to advertise the hotel more. One of the reasons why the hotel closes is because the revenue they earn is not enough to compensate the whole staff. Establishing Revenue Management Technology is important in every business therefore, financing Revenue Management System App to manage properly and see if they have an enough income to hire more staffs and employees. On that note, before the re-opening of Marco Polo an orientation for the staffs and employees about how to properly serve the guest after pandemic is important. The hospitality world will never be normal again after the COVID – 19 thus educating the staffs is important to adjust and give safe and secure service for

the guest. Nearing the re-opening of the hotel a pre-opening party will take place to stimulate the staffs and employees and to mark the start of the new Marco Polo Davao. Conclusion Marco Polo is one of the most famous hotel brands in the Philippines. Marco Polo Davao is known because it is the first and only five – star hotel in Mindanao in addition to that the hotel is also awarded by the ASEAN Green Hotel Recognition for its pro-active view in environmental sustainability and energy conservation along with the other branch of the said hotel. Not only it is the first and only five star hotel in Mindanao it is also the heart of tourism in Davao City hence when it closes many people were affected. COVID – 19 came unexpectedly to the whole world and because of it the world stops and changes, the hospitality and tourism industry is one of the most affected sectors. Many hotels, resorts, and restaurant close because of it. Even famous hotels like Marco Polo are not an exemption. That is why we create an action plan to combat and fight the pandemic. As the word is slowly regaining its footing, and the economy continue to improve we continue to adjust in order to live....
