Augusto Armando Polo Campos He was born on February 25, 1932, his parents being Captain EP Rodrigo Polo Alzamora (born in Lima) and Flor de María Campos (born in Ayacucho).Augusto was a former Peruvian policeman, musician, singer-songwriter, composer and musical teacher, considered one of the most influential and renowned musicians in the country and a legend of the Afro-Peruvian Creole musical world. He was recognized by the Ministry of Culture of Peru as a "Meritorious Personality of Culture" for having contributed to the validity of musical genres representative of the Peruvian Intangible Cultural Heritage, such as the Creole waltz and for having added themes of important symbolic value for identity national. Known nationally for his strong voice, but he obtained international fame and recognition for being the composer of various musical themes mainly for his originality and identity that he represented. His greatest period of success began with "Bad Honey" and "Nice Honey", at the same time, the success of the Peruvian Football Federation in international tournaments returned to their creations «Y se llama Perú» and «Contigo Perú», parts of the popular Peruvian songbook. He had romantic relationships with various artists, such as Cecilia Bracamonte, with whom he had a daughter named Selena. With the singer Lina Panchano, with whom he had Marco Polo, with the star Carmen Belahonia "Zulu", with whom he had a son named Giomar Augusto. and also with the star and former congresswoman Susy Díaz, a product of the relationship, Flor Polo Díaz.
