CAST IN-SITU IBS
Definition Cast in-situ industrialized building system is one of non-conventional construction methods specifically aimed to increase productivity and the quality of work using better construction machinery, equipment, technology and materials. Introduction Cast in-situ utilise lightweight prefabricated formwork made of steel, fiberglass or aluminum which is easily erected and dismantled also can be reused as many times as possible with minimal wastage. Can improve productivity, speed, and total cost. The system is technically applicable to almost all types of building. This system is suitable if unskilled labor are limited because heavy machinery or high technology not involved.
Case Study 1 Project: Perumahan Penjawat Awam 1 Malaysia (PPA1M) Location: Precinct 5, Putrajaya, Malaysia Contractor: Pembinaan Mitrajaya Sdn Bhd
Wall Construction Process Using Lightweight Formwork 1. First, external formwork was installed, and reinforcement bar are set up before erected the internal formwork. 2. Then, use couplers and tie rod to connect formwork panels with each other.
3. After that, push pull props are used to stabilize the formwork against wind forces.
4. Next, working and concreting platforms was assembled.
5. Concrete were poured into the formwork and wait until 24 days.
6. Finally, formwork was removed and cleaned to concrete residue. Formwork in a good condition then can be reuse again.
