Welcome to Co-op Fundamentals for Engineering (CFE). CFE is a series of lectures and online modules, hosted within one of your first-year engineering courses. The lectures run in the first four weeks of class; the online modules are housed within a dedicated CFE LEARN site to which you have access. The series includes: • Three in-class September/October sessions (50 minutes each) • Six online learning modules containing employer and student videos (in CFE LEARN) • One mandatory assignment (in CFE LEARN) • Six mandatory online quizzes (in CFE LEARN) • One in-class January session (50 minutes) for 8-stream students within separate first-year course The instructors leading CFE are career development professionals working in UWaterloo’s Centre for Career Action. They are Jennifer Woodside (online) and Linda Davis/Taryn Maclean (in class). The assigned TAs are Engineering students employed for a co-op work term this fall in the Faculty of Engineering.
